Like 35 years.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

If I had read a good ride report from a reliable source on a WR250 I would have already ordered one.Like 35 years.
I talked to Kevin today also. He is sending me another carb with some slight modifications to my requests next week. He is excited about us being excited about the carbs. OH, Paul Gast didn't buy Lectron. Kevin told me and others that at the Indy trade show so nobody else would by the company before him. LOL.Kevin told me that and recomended the 36 so that is what I got (getting) has not shipped yet

I will save you a seat!I might have to jump on the lectron bandwagon.
My Mikuni is lined out pretty good. With 13:50 gearing an FMF gnarly and jetted crisp on VP110 it can be a handful at times. If the Lectron will get me some more range on a tank of fuel and smooth out the hit so I can ride with more control I'm all in. I like a crisp low end response in the woods, I just wish it was crisp and more linear like I'm hearing the 125-165 is with the Lectron.I think the mikuni on my wr suspects something...... it actually ran pretty good today!
Mine runs good MOST of the time. I just want to have a nice crisp clean response from low to mid and not having to adjust the jetting mid-ride to achieve it.I hate returning to the truck and having to make adjustments during almost every ride! It might help to tell yourself that you are stimulating the economy and it will come back around to you, or you only live once, life is too short etc-etc. Just find something that works to get you through the initial pain, because you know you will be getting one of these carbs. If you get it sooner rather than later you will get many more smiles. Then over time, I think about them more and more... Then I finally break down and jump on board with the rest of you.
Maybe I missed it. But is there a Lectron suitable for the 4 strokes. Not in the market at the moment, but it sounds like the perfect carb for future consideration.
Funny you say that,my keihin with RB mods runs just great for me,can't imagine getting more with a Lectron but I'll probably get one anyway.I think the mikuni on my wr suspects something...... it actually ran pretty good today!

You don't need a Accelerator pump. I had the Quiksilver with and without. I believe I liked the non ac pump model better. I even backed way off the AC pump on mine. The AC pump model got worse milage and in tight woods it was especially tricky as the throttle reponse was too quick and you lost traction and a caused me a few times to bounce off trees. Not so bad after I decreased the pump but if I do that when why did I need one to begin with ? These were mounted on modified XR250 (315cc) and XR400 (441cc). I don't think there would be a problem mounting a Lectron on a 4 stroke. I bet Kevin already has recomendations for them. Don't go too big on the carb size to keep throttle response up. Remember a Lectron will flow at least like a 2mm bigger Keihin or Mikuni and perform more like FI.No the quick silver used to be that carb. A meter rod carb with a accelerator pump. I don't think you can buy those any more. Rumor is APT is working on a 4 stroke carb.
There are lots of good running carbs out there. This is just another one. I do find the metering rod carbs a step forward for me and my use. Love the instant throttle response and lugging power and overall crispness. As I said before, far from a necessity but also a nice upgrade IMHO like a good pipe or EFI tuner is.
