• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Red Safari tank for my 630

Haven't had any luck finding a red tank for my 630 and thought I'd throw out a hail Mary here.
Just Gas Tanks is out for another couple of months. I have e-mailed Safari and will see what they say about selling direct.

Hi John,

Safari make a red tank for the bike, in the same size as the white and translucent ones you've probably seen. The Aussie mag TrailZone had one on their long-term TE630 test bike they had last year, which was displayed at the Sydney Motorcyle show. I took some pics of it and posted it here:

Personally I think the red makes the bike look "heavier", i.e. too dominant, which the TrailZone owner agreed with when I had a chat with them. I much prefer the white like Ken Webb has, broken up with a red sticker. I also don't mind the translucent. I believe you an also get it in black.

You can have custom graphics made for a white one, tie it into the bike better. Gawd they're an ugly thing.

Ugly is an understatement. It will cost an extra $175 for a red tank right now.
Not gonna happen...
Looks like natural is the way I'll go and put on a few steekers.

When riding my bike 250-300 miles between gas stations I don't even see the ugly side view of the tank, haha All I see is the top down view which is actually more svelte than the stock tank with wide wings. Then only one tank to fill with gas and one tank to empty. Functionality always beats out aesthetics for an off road bike.

you could just paint the red tank a flat/satin black with spraybomb below that 'body line' near the safari logo. Would restore it basically to the factory look... Thats what I plan to do... Also I am not big on graphics.
