  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Radiator Brace inquiry for a '06 TE450

7602 all the way! Great service and great product plus their a site sponsor!

I've got them on my '09 TE450 without the guard in front, I just use the stock plastic deflectors with them, I need as much airflow as possible for the long slow technical places I like to ride. They fit perfect, the fan attaches to the brace itself and they work with all my tanks, IMS, stock and the safari.

Ah-ha ooh hee, you don't say. Your year is a little different than mine, but very close. Good to know, got any pics?

Colo moto I see you lurking. Any insights on your product with the 2006 TE450 i.e., tank, fan, shroud, relocated something on the frame, etc issues?

We designed the braces using a 2006 TC 450 as the model bike. The 510 has a taller cylinder that pushed the decomp cable towards the bottom of the fan on the first version of the brace, but we have since raised the fan mounting location to avoid this problem.

Thanks Colo moto. I'll have to look at the difference between the TC and TE regarding play movement with parts around the tank/motor.

On my 2007 TE450 I installed the 7602 guards recently. They fit on my 07 TE450 except for 1 area, the right side top cross bar support next to the frame. I had to cut the top section of the vertical support that anchors the top crossbar off and thus live without the top cross bar on that side. No big deal in my book.

The reason I had to cut it off was the voltage regulator is right at the top of the right side radiator on the frame and practically rubs against the radiator. As I recall I considered trying to bend it to clear but I think it was too tight at the seam of the radiator top section. The vr fins extend out too far and interfere with the rad guard vertical support. I suspect other models have different size or placement of the VR? I cut notches in the stock louvers to fit around the remaining cross bars. I have a IMS oversize tank so cannot space the radiator out further. I have a fan installed on my 06 TE450. Different rad guard, no louvers, front mounted 4" SPAL pusher fan to clear the tank.

Love my 7602 deep clutch cover hiding my Rekluse. Oil window is nice.

logroller, when i got my 06, i put a set of gaurds on from old fatguy racing, they fit right and were priced right. got them from hallscycles, springfield il.

Not related to the 06 450, but on my 07 610, I had to cut the bottom cross bar provision off to clear the fender, which meant I couldn't use my billet screens either. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't paid my anodizer to make the stuff black. Some days you just can't win..
