• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Powers 1st in Class and 28th Overall at Power Line Park GNCC

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Sunday, October the 9th at Power Line Park just outside of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Weather wise...both the week leading up to, and the weekend itself, turned out to be great.
Full delegation to help cheer him on...mom, both grandmothers, 2 aunts and his brother, what a team!

Power Line is one of Andy's favorite tracks; got his first GNCC win there. They had about a 9 mile loop…2 hours/4 laps for him. The track is fairly fast with some tricky uphill sections and some treacherous mud holes.

19 bikes on the 200 C 16+ line in the morning race; starting way in the back of the field again.

Again, Andy had the only Husky…I love it...they know Andy by now and have to be thinking...

Good starting grid; a dry grass field. He had a really good start this round…2nd place as they headed out.

32 minutes later…came thru in 2nd…down by 16 seconds. There was a spot to see them go by about 2 minutes before the scoring/pit area. He had his front number plate swinging from the brake line again. Got the chance to grab some cutters and stop him just long enough to cut the guide and pull the plate.
So...the 'no number plate look', again.

Trademark shirt tail flying in the wind!

2nd lap thru he had the lead by 2 1/2 minutes; which he extended to over 4 minutes by the third lap and finished with a 4 1/2 minute lead.

Standing up, knees in, elbows out, looking up the trail...good form...got no idea where he got that from.

Andy finished strong…1st in class and 28th overall out of 321 bikes. He mentioned that the passing opportunities were limited, but it was the same for all.

The points race has been tight...he needs to win out the last 3 races to lock it up.

The lines in the mud holes had major changes between laps…his older brother hung out by the big mud hole all day, good thing he did. The chosen line on the last lap sucked Andy in to a stop. Mitch and some other mud fleas jumped in, ''extracted'' him and sent him on his way. What are big brothers for…

After repairing the carnage from Mountain Ridge two weeks ago the bike ran great.

Last week Wally called it a chainsaw. This week...apparently it's a Weedeater.

Congrats! Team Powers! Those front number plates make good salad bowls after you wash them up!

Looking forward to meeting you guys next weekend!

Thanx

hmm, no FMF turbocore this time?? Any reason? My numberplate broke the cheesy plastic top tab a while back, two small holes and a zip tye have replaced the plastic tab, bullet proof :)

Good catch mont... the original and reinforced/braced TC2's keep breaking the weld or pipe. We are up to 4 times now. The bike is quieter with the FMF, but performance wise I don't think he can tell the difference. The stocker is tough and it bothers him to think of a TC2 going south during the heat of the battle. So far, every time they broke he was practicing.

The number plate...he said a vine got hooked on it and broke the tab.

I should have had some backup ties on it. Will now...Thanks for the advice...

aluminum can stock silencer falls off mid race often. i would put some stainless wire on it asap. I had two fall off. the welds break at the mounting tab. my re-welded one is doing the trick now.

dang man that's whole lotta unsprung weed weight. Great job!! great finish!!

''unsprung weed weight''?...I'm sure there's got to be some kind of inside jokes available here...:D

I'm sure if it was balanced it could be consider a kind-of, sort-of cheap flywheel weight effect thing...
