Awwww.

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Bikes don't wheelie. People do.
It's a skill, folks. One I do not possess, to be sure. But a skill nonetheless. A good rider can wheelie any bike in any gear...

Good point. Rider skill is one very important part of a successful wheelie. Lower gearing and a powerful engine make things more manageable.Bikes don't wheelie. People do.

Exactly. One of my friends rode my TE yesterday for the first time. He's on the thing for about 12 feet and as he shifts into second stands the thing right up and rides it down the street. Took me a month on the bike before I was confident enough to try it.Bikes don't wheelie. People do.

Another thing that people fail to mention is their gearing. They preach all day long about how easy it is to wheelie their bike and talk down to those of us that disagree. Turns out, they have geared their bike down, and I have not.
Now, I suck at wheelies, so take this with a grain of salt. But, with my stock geared, powered up, JD Jetted, Leo Vince full system-ed bike, the only gear I can manage a wheelie in with nothing but a handful of throttle is 1st.
LRPct did just that. Came in here and talked about how easily his bike wheelies in 4th gear. Then, 2-3 posts later, admits that he changed the gearing. That makes a big difference.
I stand corrected. I see that you did mention your gearing in the original post. In my defense, what I mentioned does happen around here.Y
Hey jtemple, if your ginna use my name, get your shit straight... I listed my gearing on the very first post. Never 'changed my story" like you just said... Jjjeeezzzress H... You cant wheelie for shit, and you certainly cant read any better... Wtf CAN you do?!? :P.![]()

In my defense, to sit there and question those of us with stock gearing that can't wheelie in 4th gear with just a throttle twist while your bike is geared down is comparing apples-to-oranges.
My TE is similar, opened up and with stock gearing. There's no way I'd be able to power wheelie it in 4th gear.My SMS (with stock gearing) will pull the wheel with throttle only in 2nd with a bounce. It'll clutch up in 2nd with no effort and clutch up in 3rd with a good hard bounce.
I've never tried it in 4th but I doubt I can bounce it hard enough for that...
It's opened up in/out and JD'd though. Stock it was pretty gutless as usual.
I've wheelied it THROUGH 4th, starting in 2nd, but not quite the same...My TE is similar, opened up and with stock gearing. There's no way I'd be able to power wheelie it in 4th gear.

Two lil wheelies, both "launched" in 4th, no clutch.
Really, are 4th gear wheelies so odd on these???? I know mine is an old 08 610 with just PU and 14-45, but even I can rip 4th gear wheelies no problem and now that I'm getting decent at it can usually grab and kepp it up through 5th..
Again. like JTEMPLE, I dont know why you highlight me.. I NEVER said anything about what bike SHOULD with what gearing.. I ASKED, cause I was surprised others thought it was so odd.. and who the F doesn't change their gearing from stock???? OTHERS got in the discusssion vs. what bike and what gearing an dtalk of unicorns and honest polititian sighting etc..... I said FROM THE ORIGINAL POST what I had.. PUed 08 with 14-45. wtf.... reading comprehension anyone..??... Sorry, but I have lil patience for fingers pointed my way cause people can't eFFin read...Just so we are all on the same page here..
First, the TE610 comes stock with a 15/45 gear combo, conversely the TE630 comes geared higher with a 15/42 (gearbox ratios are identical).
Second you have re-geared your TE610 to a 14/45 gear combo which I have yet to hear of anyone doing with their TE630.
Third, when you are in 4th gear with your 610 using the 14/45 combo you are geared 15% lower than a stock TE630 in 4th.
I have no doubt that my 630 geared 15% lower using a 14/45 combo would easily do wheelies in 4th gear with the mods I have. Mine does them in third now with stock 15/42 gearing. Your TE610 4th gear is lower than my TE630 in 3rd gear.
If you need to prove it to yourself just find a gearing calculator and plug in the different gear ratios. Or better yet, put a 15/42 gear combo on your TE610 and try to do that 4th gear wheelie..
I can also tell you for fact that the TE610 with similar performance mods and gearing will not be close in acceleration to a TE630. BTW,, that is a fact.![]()
