• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

post your last purchase for your 630

I am not exactly light ....my 630 now power wheelies in 3rd with a small pull on the bars and in 4th...and a huge bar pull and seat bounce gets the front pointing upwards in a hury . the FMF pipe/jd jetting/air box mod did wonders!..almost forgot .... 15/45 gearing

I spotted him doing 4th gear power wheelies the same day we ran into Sasquatch in the woods. ;)
3rd gear his bike does rip it up every time. Can't believe the extra snap from his small single fmf pipe. That thing barks!!
I told you i was in 4th gear that morning!! You don't believe me!? Ye Of little faith! Its like making hot apple pie...ingredients:diet of rice and cold water, 14t front sprocket, JD box, FMF powercore4, clean air filter.
I'm calling Mythbusters! They will say "Confirmed"!!

Come on think positive!!! ...ok...ok.....4th gear is a stretch, but i'm also 155lbs soaking wet. last ride on our way out to woods it was a cold morning. I was on pavement, full throttle 4th gear, sitting down, and giving the bars a good pull, bike came right up to the balance point. i was shocked! looked at my buddy and held up 4 fingers and shook my head! Wives tale? Fishing story? I tried again on the way home and could not get it to the balance point in 4th gear (but its also sunny and warm out).

3rd gear wheelies with no bar pulling at all. 3rd gear wheelies right to balance point every time. thats the only wheely gear i use. i'm not good enough to balance a wheely in 2nd gear for more than 20 feet, run out of RPM too fast. Riding buddy has the Leo Vince slip-ons and the tuner. He's the reason i bought the tuner. He could do 3rd gear power wheelies and i was struggling in 2nd gear...was pissing me off. we both have 14tooth front sproket.
sounds like i need someone to back me up here! :)

what are your settings on the JD tuner?

settings - 3, 7, 6/7, 3/4, 5, 6.

This morning on the way to work I ripped a wicked 5th gear power wheelie while I
passed a honest polititian riding a unicorn.

Oh yea, a modded TE630 can wheelie in fourth gear. Will the front wheel come up without trying like a GSXR1000 or CR500?? No way but it can and will do it with ideal conditions and an experienced rider.

Wired up a spare Powerlet lead I had today. Made a mount out of sheet aluminum, mounted to handguard bracket. Now I can keep the backlight on "high" on my GPS!

That's next up for me. I miss my BMW. :(

I can't wait to kiss my BMW good-bye. The heated grips were nice, and I have become spoiled.
Hopefully these Moose heaters work alright. I don't think they can compare to the beemer, though. Time will tell.

I have the heated grip inserts on my TE and while they are not quite as good as the heated grips on my GSA, they work surprisingly well.
I put heat shrink on the non-throttle bar end and used two throttle side grips. The heat-shrink insulates the element from
the bar and keeps the warmth in the grip. The hi/lo switch went into the side of the Lynx fairing, but I'm thinking of changing it out to
one of the variable controllers.

Two lil wheelies, both "launched" in 4th, no clutch.

Really, are 4th gear wheelies so odd on these???? I know mine is an old 08 610 with just PU and 14-45, but even I can rip 4th gear wheelies no problem and now that I'm getting decent at it can usually grab and kepp it up through 5th..
