• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Right on! I want to see that big ol' hole in the ground, too! And the ice caves! And that big rock! And the State Champion Western Juniper! :)

Oh, boy :applause:

If you want to see all that stuff, you won't be doing too much trail riding. We can get you to the Ice Cave on trail, but from the 2510 staging area you'd better have the Exxon Valdez tank to make the round trip. All the other stuff would be considered a dual sport trip.

All packed up. Be there around 8 pm tomorrow, unless I stop in Bend and have dinner with my cousin, then it will be early Friday morning. Slakkinhard had an issue and can't make it but I am rockin his rig for him solo. Go U-Haul!! Looking forward to riding the EFR with some fellow Husky lovers.

Well, the Valdez is still in the garage wearing its 200-mile range tank.
The Tea Cup is on the trailer so I guess I'll be carrying gas with me :)

Sounds like I need to take another trip up there sometime with the tanker

It is handy to have a plate, there are a number of roads that make a shorter, faster connection to those places but require a plate.

Giggidy Giddidy! Finally made it back to WA last night! Looks like it's me and the kids driving down late friday to a hotel and hopefully linking up with the hoard saturday morning at 2510. Looking forward to some fun!

we're packing up tonight and should be leaving first thing in the am. hope to be riding by friday noon. Tresa's been really sick the last couple days but seemed to be recovering this morning.

still debating whether to tent and freeze or get a cheap hotel.

27-31 degrees at night. Hotel might be a good option.

Bend Euro Moto?

little behind the times on this... I thought they were still around.. Was looking forward to supporting another Husky Dealer while I was there.

that sucks..

Probably. All the races I've ever done out there have been from 2510.
It is the first camp you'll pass assuming you're coming in from Hwy 20.

From Bend: Follow Hwy. 20 east about 20 miles. After crossing the Horse Ridge Summit, turn right on the second road, Spencer Well Road (paved Road 23). Proceed south for 5.5 miles until the road forks. Take paved Road 25 to the right and follow the signs to the Camp II Trailhead.

From La Pine: Take the Finley Butte Road (paved Road 22) east about 24 miles and follow the signs to the South Lava Trailhead.

I think we'll be mixed between camp II and 2510, I think OregonSage was planning on camp II, and I think he's already there. They're only about 5 minutes apart by bike.

Yes. 2510 is before camp II, so you'll pass it using those directions.
2510 is the first campground you'll pass if you're coming in from hwy 20. I think the bulk of the group is going to be at 2510.

the mighty motomobile is packed and ready. we're leaving at zero-buttcrack-thirty so as to get in a good day's ride friday. woot woot.
