  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

It's a Provini power valve controller. Basically it can slow the rate the PV opens and tame the power delivery.
 
Oh, cool. Have you messed around with your pv settings? How did it affect your power delivery?

No, not yet. The TEC can slow the power delivery to the point it feels about like my old 510. I pretty much keep it in the softest delivery setting.
Hall's can get them now, but they aren't cheap.
 
MOTORHEAD, do you have the CR ignition on your bike?
Is that a MSR shifter? I couldn't decide between a MSR or Driven shifter so I ordered them both. The stock one is horrible.

No, I'm not running the CR ignition. It's a improvement to the 250, but I'm not sure I need it on the 300. I might try one later on.
The shifter is a stock WR with a tip from a four stroke Husky on it. You can order the tips and rivets from a dealer.

Hi guys, just tuned in from South Africa.
I bought this WR250 a couple of days ago. Still havent taken delivery, but here is a pic from the "for sale" advert...
(I'm not totally in love with the decal job from the previous owner, BTW).

It is supposed to be a 2008. It only has about 13 hours since new!

Here's my almost finished '82 175XC, still need a couple odds and ends. It will be seeing some AHRMA action possibly later this year. Hopefully the pix made it with the post, 1st try uploading.
