As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Nice bikes and pictures here. Especially those cool granite bike pictures.
Well I've had an 08 610 since new and always kinda wished I'd gotten a carbed bike. I know... "wierd".
When I saw the low miles 06 Eric got and thought
"how nice is that!". So when Bill told me about an 07 with 230 miles on it, I couldn't resist.
When I bought the bike they told me it had 225 mi on it, but it was actually 225 kl, which is 140 mi. I'm still breaking it in.
WoodsChick, that's a great angle too. I like that back tire. Is that bigger than normal?
No, I don't think so...it's a Shinko 705 in 180/70-17. The stock size is 150/60-17.
That would be 30mm (1.2") wider than stock as well as 46mm (nearly 2") taller off the rim (or 92mm taller from ground to top of tire). It should have a serious effect on speedo accuracy.
It's much bigger than normal.
The pipe was on the bike when I bought it. The bike came from Fast By Ferracci. They might have that pipe. They specialize in racing and Italian bikes.i like the barrett pipe with the carbon fibre finish. did u buy it from barrett direct? i cant see that option for their pipes?
cheers
This is my 1st off-road bike, so I never rode in the dirt. I'm still getting used to the seat height. I can flat foot it on my street bike and even flex my knees, but I love my SM610!No, I don't think so...it's a Shinko 705 in 150/70-17. The stock size is 150/60-17.
The Shinko is a good streety dualsport tire. In case you haven't figured it out yet, my SM610 probably spends more time in the dirt than it does on pavement
(Edited due to typo on size of Shinko)
Nice bike! Is that a trail tech head light? I'm looking to upgrade the lamps in mine.A few pics of mine from today
