• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Nice looking bike. The stickers definitely give it some flare.
What brand muffler is that ? I like the red endcap.

Where are you guys getting graphics for your 610? I see some from Czech Republic on Ebay... I want the Italian color scheme.

can you please elaborate more on the material used to make this rack? diameter, wall thickness, material etc. i am trying to DIY some up myself and the first lot were far too heavy. interested to know what you used.

cheers

I have built racks for a few bikes.

Materials...

19mm x 1.6mm 4130 for major structures. 16mm x 1.2mm 4130 for minor structures. Side racks such as these can be done in the lighter material. A small amount of 20mm x4mm or 20 x 6mm bar and/or 16-20mm round bar may also be required for mounting the rack.

4130 requires post treatment... or flame weld it (my preference) as this was what 4130 was designed for.

An alternate (and economical) material is high tensile mild steel. I don't recall the specification, but what you'd be looking for is usually cold drawn 1020. Use the same material dimensions as for the 4130.

Nice photos, Toddler:thumbsup: Looks like your 610 is getting beamed up to heaven. I wanna ride that rocky trail with you!

Eric just got an `06 TE610 with 682 miles on it. It has a few issues but should be good to go by the end of September...I hope :D

These photos were taken while on vacation a few weeks ago in the Sierra and Sequoia National Forests...
