I have an FMF Q4 exhaust and it attaches to the passenger footpeg mount at the subframe. It also attaches to the bike in the front by the header and in the rear of the subframe for a total of three anchor points.
I went down a couple of weeks back and the part where the exhaust attaches to the subframe by the rear passenger foot peg got tweaked and bent. I took it to a shop and told them that I really didn't need the footpegs, but if they could fix the bent u-bolt and reattach the exhaust. When I got the bike back they told me that since the exhaust was attached in two other places I really didn't need this mount. So I have the foot pages off, and the pipe feels sturdy, but my question is whether or not I should have this third anchor point for the exhaust. The mechanic at the local shop seems to think it is redundant and not necessary?
