  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC OW40 Mobil 1 Oil

KXcam22

Husqvarna
AA Class
A question for Timken (or anyone). After some research I just started using this oil in my boat (Yamaha R1 engiens). How is it proving out for use in 4T dirtbikes? Considering a 2015 FE350 to add to my stable. Thanks. Cam.

I have run nothing but that for a while, zero issues. Works great. I use the off the shelf european car formula s it does not have friction modifiers that are bad for the clutch.
Thinking about running it my 2014 YZ 450 but not sure about...currently using in my 2013 zx 10 and both huskys.

Hey Motosportz, are you also using it in your 2 stroke gearboxes?

sometimes. that or...

I've been using m1 0w40 euro in my 310 for about 2000kms. All good

We use it in both our 4t and 2t gear boxes. We ran Vegas 2 Reno, 531 miles wide open with it, placed #2 over all. It works and is dirt cheap.

Imma thinking I might switch to it in my honey's SV 650S. It calls for 10W-40 too and is ready for a change soon. Loving it in my TE449. It quieted the clutch in the Husky and the Suzy's clutch is kinda loud too.

Well then YZ is ready for oil change so I guess I'm gonna give Mobil a go. Owners manual says yamalube of course, 10-40 for my climate. My zx 10 sure loves it as well as both huskys. This whole oil science thing just makes me nervous sometimes. When I tell my buddy's they can't believe I run a car oil in my bikes...

would they also be surprised people have had great results running rotella diesel oil in street and dirt bikes as well? its even jaso rated

The rotella has been my mainstay for bikes for years but for some reason the boat engines didn't like it, just didn't feel smooth. Quite the opposite with the 0W40 euro Mobil 1. Very nice. Funny, but other than 2T oil I have never used bike oil in my bikes. Cam.
