• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Cody ran his first ever MX on the TC 250 today. We opted to run an unlimited class to see how the TC would hold up against a variety of bikes. The kid really nailed it! :applause: In the practice heat he finished 3rd in a pack of 24 (16 in his class and 8 in the +40 class). In the first moto he was 2nd out of the hole in a group of 16 but got caught up and stopped by a crash involving 2 riders in front of him. Despite the loss of several postions and several seconds, he managed to work his way back from 15th to 8th in 2 laps!

The second moto he was yet again forced to go around a 3 bike pile-up out of the hole but managed to pass 4 riders in 4 laps and end the day at 4th overall out of 16. Awesome first race and a great tribute to this capable little Husky! Don't let ANYONE tell you this 250 motor is slow or non-competitive. I'm more convinced than ever that the press reports on this bike are being written by morons. And... as has always been the case when we race a Husky... there was a path beaten to our pit by MANY... just to look and ask questions.

Wake up in the USA Husky! Get some "A" and "B" riders on these bikes at regional events and on an occassional podium and the buyers will come... these bikes ARE competitive! The rag writers are jaded Jap-Zombies fueled by ad revenues.

Great results!

As for the magazines, most of the reports where not that bad. And stock out of the crate...I have to agree with a lot of there complaints. But who races a with a just uncrated bike anyways? You have to at least get the jetting right. As for the power, the specs are about 1hp less...who cares! 1hp will not get you on the podium :excuseme:

Congrats, and could not agree more --- I NEVER pay attention to what the mainstream magos say about any bike, Husqvarna and I go back over 20 years now and I have always had skeptics say after riding with me and experencing the brand that they had the wrong impression of Husky and that the bikes were really first class machines. Magazines are advertisements with some opnions and photos thrown in. RIDE On! and no surprise that the little 250 kicked some major butt!

Yep, I agree... get some riders on these bikes and it will help sales for sure ... Husky just does not have enough exposure at the current time ..

Great results and keep up the good racing!

Krieg be sure and tell Cody congrats. It sure was good seeing a Husky flying high the last time we were all at TNT. Practice makes perfect. I hope to make one of his races soon. Let me know where and when you guys will be racing next.
