• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

NW Gathering Round 3 - November 7-11 2012

Kevin - I am coming over without our buddy Walt. Who will lead us astray? Is there anyone who can help us out? My exact arrival day remains a mystery, but i think i am going to arrive on Wednesday evening and leaving on Monday. Walt insists I bring his 2012 WB165 for all to try. He says my 165 is too slow. Hummmmm. I think he sets it up that way to handicap me. I probably deserve it, but my skills are so limited, it just puts me farther behind. Handicapping the handicapped? A teachable moment!:banghead:

Sounds good,, I'll be in Friday late...I'll pm you my number if Walt hasnt given it to you yet :)

Now that's more like it.

 I will probably camp, too, but I totally understand those that don't really want to camp in those cold conditions. I'll probably be wishing I had a toasty hotel room and hot tub after my water lines freeze in the Pleasure Palace Camper Van Deluxe :)

My semi-sorta plan is to blast into town to have dinner and socialize with these crazy sots at the brewpub of their choice, maybe crash their hot tub (unless you guys are setting up a portable one in camp, of course) and then hot foot it back to camp. I don't know...I'll just play it by ear, I guess :)

I thought that was the point of this, camping, riding and hanging by a big fire drinking Pendleton. This the Northwest in November!

No reason we can't still do that! For me it cost as much and was more hassle to drag the motorhome over the pass for two days so we decided to get a nice warm hotel room. I'm becoming a bit of a puss in my old age i guess :D

Brew pubs and hot tubs do sound good, but it is camping this time. Don't want to have to drive back and forth. It will be a great time any way you guys do it.

Reporting live from the Pacific North Wet....

Yesterday I went to heaven, or at least Husqvarna heaven - Bills Motorcycle Plus, and will be going back to Bills today. I will be leaving Salem tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and going out to Camp 25... then checking into a hotel for 4 nights, checking out Sunday morning. I booked the hotel in Bend on Sunday, but it appears that hotel will be inundated with interesting characters (Red Lion Inn :))

I am not sure what Bills (and more importantly Bryons with the demo bikes) schedule is, will try to find out today.
