• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Noisy rear disc brake

Does anyone else's rear disc brake a lot of noise when riding due to it moving/ floating around whilst riding? On my my te310 it make a lot of noise to the point mates ask me if that's normal. Does anyone know if it's normal? Is there a way to reduce the noise?

Yes, they are noisy. You can get size up four o rings to go between the spacers and disc to elinate the rattle.

Normally annoying :)
Mine is producing more noise than it used to (Now has 4500km). If the disc is rotated and re-mounted it would tighten the tolerances close to "as new".. and it may be a bit quieter, for a while..
It will always rattle, just how it is designed.
I'd like to note that both the disc and pads are in excellent condition considering the distance covered on my bike.

Ha, I was going to ask the same thing. My txc is really noisy too :) glad to know its normal.

clankety-clank...mine does the same, I might try rotating it, honestly though, it doesn't bother me anymore

People often ask me what the rattling noise is at idle on my TE450. I tell them that it's the rear brake.

got my first husqvarna (TC450) a week ago the first thing i did was TIG welding the rear disk to the washer that holds the disk to the hub...

Braking sells a soild mount if you cant take it any longer.
Ive seen one of these derail when hit on a stump. What a mess they make when or if it happens.
