  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Is the Tubliss system worth the money and piece of mind?

I think they are, but installing them for the first time can be expensive unless you are capable of doing it yourself. The plus side is if you get a flat, you can just plug it from the outside and pump it back up. Or slime it.

a TUbliss costs about same as three or four HD tubes.
For me the greatest benefit is not carrying tubes and tire irons on the trail.
Usually run ten psi, but some guys go lower.
Never had a flat on them yet, several thousand klicks on one set on the DRZ, a thousand or so on the 310 and now 1500 on the 511.
I do run Slime in the tire.
I managed to pinch one inner bladder on installation, don't know how.
They are different to install but not really difficult.

Thanks for all of the responses. Once I go to change the stock tires I think I'm going to try them. Time to start saving money.

I just joined and was looking for information on how to "uncork" my 2011 Te 449. I just bought the bike and would appreciate any help.
Thanks JJ

on order or waiting for me to install:
front sprocket 14T
JD EFI Tuner
front tugger strap
RAM mounts for the GPS and the SPOT.
Nomad tank from Motosportz

I'd like to have the suspension set up this winter & will try an iridium plug if I can find it.
Thinking about pivot pegs; I have them on the V-Strom & might be nice on the Husky.

Please let me know what you think of the JD efi turner your purchased.

It helped the bike run better but it still suffered the occasional flame-out.
The Zip-ty remap completely sorted out the bike so I gave away the JD tuner to someone on this forum.

Something I found useful in tight tracks was to remove the white plastic wiring loom clamps where the forks turn into the steering stem & adjust the steering stops in nice & tight toward the frame.
I got a heap more lock out of the bike this way, they don't turn as sharp as the competition from new.
I tied the looms under the original clip mounts with zipties to stop them getting pinched.
Worked a treat :)
