• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Front Sprocket?

Hey Guys,

Just converted my 13 TE449 to a supermoto. So far, I'm real happy with the Warp 9's I got, however I am not as happy with the way gearing is setup.

Went down to a 44T rear sprocket and still running stock on the front, was wondering what I could bump up the front sprocket to without having to switch chains (just spent 80 bucks on a brand new one) and instead just use the spacer index gap I have on the swing arm of the rear axle.

I have a fairly long commute to work (about 20 miles each way) and I would love to take this thing on the freeway. Right now the gearing still feels short and not freeway worthy.

Thoughts?

Not sure there is room to go up to a 16 or 17t in the front. And, I think you need to pull the swingarm to change it. I hear you though, I just got some Warp9's and have a 40t rear. I don't like doing 65 for more than a few mintues. If I get another rear for the sumo setup, I would be looking for a 36 or so.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Yeah I saw that thread, seems like those were more SMR guys that have a bit more proper setup than I do.
Curious PSG, what has your experience been with Map 3? Right now I'm just using the power up plug (Race Map II).

As for pulling off the swing arm, just found some videos online on how to do that, I think I'll stick with stock up there after seeing that, thought it was going to be a 1-2 switch for that piece, but it's just too big a hassle.
