Kelly knows more than I do but motors from China, think Frames china some euro and japan but assembled in Spain
Are we still talking AJP? Spain? Chinese frames? Better not to post if you have no idea (unless your just here to bash). Well you got one thing right. The motor is from china, brand is Zongshen is ISO9001 compliant and has large long term contracts with HD and Piaggo. And it is good one and upgraded and carries a 2 year warranty. I just got the full manufacturer specs and info on it. Very nice quality motor with counterbalancer, 2 eaton pumps, SS oil filter stock, roller rockers, and almost 2 quarts capacity. I dont think it is going to be an issue and works very well. Its impressed the heck out of me so far. This motor is also used in GG, the new adventure bike and many other factories are using it. Its a good motor.
George, you bad mouthed the 449/511 motors not long after selling one to a customer I sent you. That was not received well by him you told him how good the bike is then months later posted "it is as good as the chinese bearings that are in it". Come to find out they have very high quality german bearings in them. Other than the torque limiter that have been VERY reliable and robust. I love mine. Over 6000 miles of hard thrashing, valves still in spec, bike is stinking fast / runs perfect. My point is please don't come here and bash things you don't know about. Seems you are trying to blemish a bike you have never seen or experienced.
AJP builds everything but the motor and the suspension for the most part. Source stuff like brakes as well like every other manufacturer. Frame, plastic, molds, seat and everything are all done in house. This is not fly by night effort this is 27 years of focused manufacturing. They have a very nice facility. 3D cad cam engineering, in house mold making, fast prototype 3D printers etc. These guys are for real and have a great product. If people are going to cry over sourcing parts you will not be buying anything, cars, bikes whatever. An AJP PR5 just took 2nd int he pro class at the Portugal extreme enduro. Endless happy customers in the UK for years. Nothing to be scared of they are just new to the US.
hand welded and painted frames, built entirely in house. I own a AJP so can speak to it directly and the quality is top notch. Fit and finish is exceptional.
In house seat mold, swingarm mold. All done in house and refined quickly as needed. The seat itself is super high quality, like everything else.
3d modeling and element stress testing, in house.
Virtual bike modeling for tolerances and fitment / interference. Just like the big guys only better as no big corporate bean counter breathing down your neck. Built by enthusiasts that all ride... right out of the back of the shop. Have spoke with the importer to great lengths who has been to the factory twice. He is / was a dealer for Beta, Sherco and a few others and totally gets quality and good product.
several 3d printers for test fitting plastic and other parts...
All bikes are pre run on a dyno etc.
Frame building supplies
Oh yeah they build the complete exhaust muffler and all and it is super nice stuff that fits perfect and is well built. Was going to replace the muffler but after looking at it is is a very nice aluminum unit with two included inserts and really no way to improve. (dont need to buy one either)
these guys can't keep up with demand even though you can see they are well stocked and trying...
Come with quality Michelin tires not crap. These bikes are slap hand guards on and go. Even the skid plate is one of the best designs I have ever seen and built all in house (Remind me of the new TM designs ones only better coverage and fit)
Awesome 48mm Sachs fork fully adjustable and even have externally adjustable preload and are nitrate coated. Top quality. I have 2 rides on them and are already my favorite forks. The new Beta trainer has much lower spec 43mm forks for comparison.
Very nice subframes and in house built tank. Attention to detail here as they have a billet receptor and cap so you will never mess threads up on the plastic tank and it will never wrap.
Innovative, incredible build quality / fit and finish, and built by enthusiasts. Even the details like fasteners and such are well thought out and implemented. Takes very few tools to work on, all hardware is top quality and fits perfect into threaded holes as they should. These guys are for real as is the product. Just want to make that clear. I was told the quality is very high. I had high expectations when uncrating mine. It crushed my expectations. Build quality is as good or better than anything. Bike rides awesome and brings a lot of advantages to the table. I defy you to look at one in person and not be amazed by the quality. Everyone who has seen it said they look super high quality and everyone who rode it loves it. I'm doing demos, anyone is welcome to come ride one... then you will get it.
hope this clears that up.
