Looks like a OK trail bike nothing more.......priced higher then I would expect....weight?????
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
The bike is european, the motor is asian sourced and warranty backed. Time will tell. Mine likes a good pounding, never misses a beat, is very quiet, does its job, never gets hot, just plugs along. 800 and some miles now. Dont think it is even broke in yet. Two eaton oil pumps, 2 quarts of oil, SS filter and 2 screens, balancer, roller rockers, nice looking castings. Seems good to me so far. The engine castings are very nice, japanese like and clean / modern looking in every way. I dont think it is some amazing motor but does the job well and is easy to use. Look forward to see how it will hold up.

OK OK. I'm sure it is a fun little bike. Just wonder the horsepower and the true dry weight. Just my thoughts 4999 instead of 5999 would just seem more appropriate. like. Everything I'm sure there is a niche for it. And if a guy burned around on it for a day would be able to make a good determination as to what the bike is and is not capable of. I'd probably rather ride one of those old small gassers. Can't remember the model name but it is smaller and doesn't have a Chinese engine...DANG FLETCH DATS A LITTLE HARSH
You're comparing it to the wrong bikes. Instead of 125's, compare it to a drz400 or yamaha wr250r. Its almost 1k cheaper, has the power of a powered up version of those bikes, comes with better suspension and brakes, and is about 50 pounds lighter. It's meant to be an easy to maintain torquey 4 stroke, basically to do the job in the trails 4 strokes are supposed to be for. This isn't your tc250 but one of the best small bore 4 stroke trail bikes out nowLooks like a OK trail bike nothing more.......priced higher then I would expect....weight?????
Kelly, just curious, who's EFi system do they use mate?

Delphi. http://delphi.com/manufacturers/other/powertrain/small/
I have WAY more info and ability to diagnose this EFI already than any EFI system. As it is not some proprietary system I have full documentation, test procedures and info on everything. Very liberating compared to hard to get info on most bikes. The documentation i have so far on these bikes is excellent. Much more complete and all in english than any other manufacturer I have seen so far. Quite nice.
Delphi have a long history, should be a good thing if not locked up as the end user. Thanks for the info.
Hmmm..... very good suspension, EFI, 2 year warranty, great build quality, compare it to all the other bikes out there and see where it stacks up. Even if the new Yamaha wr250f has more power it is atleast $2,000 more.Looks like a OK trail bike nothing more.......priced higher then I would expect....weight?????
Good looking ride, the ride report does well to generate an interest in the machine.trail rider mag (BTW that my bike they are riding)
