• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MotoPED

Looks like fun for sure. A little more power would be nice, but there must be a point where it would be called a motorcycle and loose the advantages of a moped. Bigbore kit??:D

Stick a 190cc Daytona 4V engine in it along with a Lectron carb and this thing will rock! This engine is about $1100 new.

That is one heavy 50cc engine. I think I'd sneak a 10lb. 60cc Husqvarna X-Torq engine in instead.

Thats actually cool. I live in an area where theres some epic mtn bike trails. Problem is you gotta petal up 10 miles of fireroads first, then you get cool singletrack going down. Would love something like this or an electric version to get me up the hills-lol

the forks only are about $1500 i can buy a street legal motorcycle for that price thats ridiculous

Ten mile climbs up fireroads will most definitely give you "Firecrotch"...

do as i did an buy an old set of forks from a old bike, marzocchi shivers are going for £100-200 that uses 20mm solid bolt plenty of strength for these drop offs, i love this the more i look at it.

Husky people are not normal :D

When I say "Normal" as a Husky person it means "Not normal" to the rest of society as a whole.
I mean, seriously man, have you seen my profile pic? I have this abnormal growth coming out of my back that I dress up as a chick in a cowboy hat!
(even worse than that, I tell people it's my wife, shhhh...)
