• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

May 2014 China Hat ride

The fall gathering has been at 25 for 3 years.

Right, 2510 has lots of downsides....kids riding around, dusty, crowded, ...

25 has been a great spot....lots of room and few others using it....the FS website barely even acknowledges it exists.

Camp II is the answer if you want to change locations, but 2510.....not so much!! :oldman:

They all connect to the same trail system

Ok. I will lobby for 25. This is the week of the 14th. Most of our gang will de there late wed and staying through sat.
How do you get to 25 ?

My wife has surgery on Friday so wont make it until Friday night or Saturday morning. Gotta love her.

Is it going to snow like in did in Colorado? Do I need to bring studded tires for my bike, so I don't get stuck. I don't know what the big deal is. I remember in the early 80's I was in Limon Colorado and they had snow on the ground in mid June. But that was before Global Warming.

That was a great time
Hey, is that Russ playing in the snow?
That was a fun time!

Here are the instructions for the site our gang has picked out.
Road 25 to #43 trail crossing. Look for the primitive road on the left that goes up a slight hill.
Will stage at the first rock or further up. look for a 30 ft blue and white motorhome. A short bald guy on a KTM 300 with the energy of a teenager will be driving it. lol
Who is all coming ?

I like that spot and have camped there many times. It is very tiny compared to 25 and no rest room or "pucker brush" though.

Can anyone put this on a map as I don't have a clue where it is. Sorry I only know the Trask.

Grab a ORV map for the area, take the main 25 road in off hwy 20, see where the 43 trail crosses, follow the directions posted.

on this map it should be just above and to the right of the "road 25 staging area" circle, see trail 43.

25 is the paved road running south from the highway.....continue on pavement just a ways past the 2510 turnoff and if I read my map right trail 43 is the next trail that crosses the road.

(Or you can download my instructions above .....but dont go all the way to Camp 25 which is another mile or so past trail 43 )

Here is where to get that Map that Kelly posted.

I plan to pop in Saturday morning before I head across the highway to help with the Oregon State Hare & Hound race. Kids ride on Saturday afternoon, 116 mile race (2 loops) on Sunday.
