• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

Looks great Darin!

Thanx! Dirk!

So, since we got storms this am. I decided to get inside the VM carb. Was wondering if I could fool it into thinking it was a big carb for top end and lil carb for torque. I do this on my modern carb mods. Well it has completely change the sound of the engine. Bike has more bottom and more top end. Darn thing feels like a 300 now! So that means I can get a titch more out of it yet. Love this thing and with the newer Maico forks and Ohlins. This thing fly’s, handles great and soaks up everything.

That's awesome! I'd be super excited to give your carb mods a try. My 300 is still rockin' the Lectron and while it feels a bit lazy, it does suit the trail riding I'm doing.

It’s cheaper to keeper!

Best mod to a 300 is smooth and manageable. If they become too gnarly then they wear u out.

Just got done painting my seat for the 390.

You know me.........

Always thinking outside of the box!

I think gold lettering on black cover looks sweet!

See if I can’t get the darn thing finished and running late spring!

Good for you Darin, I tell the new guys at work to enjoy the slow periods because when it ramps back up and it will, we'll put you out like a cigarette butt!

That’s a good saying!

Fender set on the way for the 390.

Unfortunately, I have to reblast/repaint my front forks since the VHT paint is flaking off in spots.

Chris keep more projects coming!

Coming down assembly line.

Friggin VHT paint is flaking off rear shocks too!

Every place I’ve used it. I’ve re painted......
