    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

There is a lot of trades and skills that I think will be lost some day and glad you were interested.

Ok, now back to my pipe. Pipe is on order with taper cones, transition cones etc....

Now I have to go get some graph paper and compass to make templates for all my cuts since it is pipe.

I have a 90 degree circular bend coming but I would like my angles to look more square like the Dyno Port pipes. Think they always looked cool!

For now I am keeping the bend coming off cylinder , transitioning to the 180 degree bend. That's where I am going to hitch the ride going up. I'm only going to tack weld that area if I decide to come back and reproduce that area as well.

So we will see since this is my first rodeo doing this except for roll bars!

You are pushing yourself. It makes you better. I can relate to it (maybe to a lesser level) I've been a electro mechanical tech for 35 years or so. I do all things on my house, 2suvs, a car, a one ton truck, & 8 or nine bikes. We figure things out. One of these days when the planets align & I can spend some money on my bikes, I will be following your painting instructions for sure. Very comprehensive instructions you gave me. I have them saved for some day.:thumbsup:

I want to mention to you that I have some black Husky wheels for a cheap price. They are made in china so i will sell them cheap.

I bought them from a forum member here for full retail price and it turned out they were Chinese imitations.
 
Here is the other silencer I made, zip tied to the 83.

I finished the logo on it and cleared over it.

I have made half dozen silencer brackets for this one and 390.

Still don't like them so I am still working on a design.

Each silencer I make will go with each bikes colors.

I really like them!

Except the fingers prints on them every time I touch them!

Here is a silencer bracket.

They have to be lower profile since I'm running bigger tubes.

Here is a tip if the bracket bent the silencer in.

Wrap silencer in wrag and put the silencer under the jaws of your vice.
Use a crow bar and gradually lift the brackets. Brackets will lift and pull the dent back out.
Go nice and easy and approach bracket at different angles.

Wa La! Good as new!

Ok,

Got this template thing dialed!

This is based on 4 inch tubing. These two together make a 45 angle.

Will be easier on pipe. Paper lil hard to stick together with tape.

So think I'm going to back angle down to 5 sections to make a tight 90, but more gradual.

Once I get the pipe cut then I can tack weld it together and make a mating cut for perfect matching fit.

Hope it long movie guys...... I have to travel all this week and some next. Tubing, cones and etc... are on order.
At nights in hotel, I will be making pipe cutting templates.

I am also derailed on another Vintage Husky project for some one special, on a deadline, and will fill you in later.
