• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

I think I like the long because that's what was on my 79 MC250, miss that bike!

I think you should get another one. Pics on here do not do it just. Thing is beautiful in this red.

One thing wish I would of done, if had to do it over.... That would be to have painted the frame, fork legs and rear springs in Basecoat/clear instead of powder coat. Powder coat just doesn’t have the shine depth.

I still painting frames and I am still powercoating frames. I had that one 490 red with powercoat and it had
a real great shine for a one coat. My Husky silvers , well on powdercoat always get a second clear powdercoat added
because the silver does on have have the UV it it. Double checked to see that clear had a high UV rated. Many powercoat products
have a Sheen or gloss ratings, been tryin to learn all that.

Gosh - I just saying so may options and so many combos. On paint and powder. Paint to me is best look. Powder is a great look too
and so much easier. Decisions - decisions ! One thing i know Darin here really does some of the best prep on all.

Thanx Gary!

I did not know, that powder could be cleared over.

Vic Krause be here this morning. Gonna do a couple of fork legs for him. He is pushing to get a bike ( Maico) done for Vintage race in Byron IL.

I know one thing. Anything that I used a spray can on, has to be redone. I got couple fork legs/ Shocks I used VHT on, and now they need redone. Stuff just flakes off.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about that! Rest up and get better! Last year was my year being in leg brace for have year and knee surgery.

Hey message me above and give me your number. Me phone crashed bout month ago and I lost all my contacts.

Why you messing with us? Ha!

Bout time you stepped up and got nother one!

Six vintage Huskies and one hybrid isn't enough Darin?
Maicos were sold in very small numbers down under which is why I regret selling it so much.
If another reasonably priced one reared it's head, I'd be on it like a fat kid on a cupcake!
Tony.

I did not know that Maicos were not sold down under like US.

They are starting to grow on me like the Husky’s.

fat chance of that... ol mate jarv is snapping up anything that is red without a honda sticker. he has bought 15 this last year including the famed 700cc for an undisclosed sum

They were sold in Australia by small importers in small numbers, a "bit" of a rarity down here.
Mine was a '79 MC250 which I bought as a basket case, ripper bike though.
I'd still have it if it weren't for a tax debt a few years back.......

Wouldn’t life be grand if we didn’t have any set backs!

Never know. One could pop up when you least expect it. I looked for quite some time. Then soon after I got mine, three popped up.
