• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

Look a sheeter on dis creeter!

Made mud flap to seal off where pipe runs, since gonna make a snail piper for her. Fox decal is paint!

Waiting on another Maico decal for shock reservoir.

I inlayed red down in head. So, doing Charlie thing with black cylinder and polished fins/supports.

Bad news! Cylinder will be plated on last bore. 2nd to last piston had too much clearance even with plating.

Just throwing as much as I can now but it is easier to remove stuff down road once it all comes together.

Thought title change was more in line.

That’s because 7 should fire come spring!

But how many out of the Magnificent 7 had Husky’s?

Can you name them?

I love that movie. By attitude I would say Yul, Steve, Charlie and James. Maybe Robert Vaughn too. You've done an excellent job. I hope you didn't keep the receipts. :busted:

Ha! Thanx guys!

I thought it was McQueen, Bronson and Coburn?

If there were any other Husky guys in bunch then I’m gonna learn something new.

I’m held up on cylinder...... got done plating it and while honing, they saw a little squiggly line. Liner has a hairline crack in it.

I just sourced another cylinder but now have to go back and prep it, then ship back out.

I actually screwed up when put the fox logo on the piece of aluminum to replace mud flap.

It actually had to be turned around to align with air box.

So, decided to do lil something different.

Here is tank resting on bike. It is 79 VW Mars red that is in all Maico forums.

As you can almost tell, it is on the softer red, on this side of Sears.

Well, that is not cutting it and is driving me nuts, with the mis match.

So, I ran to the paint store and we made my own Maico red.

It is Nason Base Coat.

Called Darin’s Maico Red.
