    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Looking for fat bars adaptor..?

I want to install 28mm fat bars on my new Terra, but I am struggling to find a set of 22mm to 28mm adaptors that will fit the Terra.. The bolt distance on the stock clamps is 38mm, but all the adaptors I have seen have either smaller or larger bolt distance..

So a question to you guys that have already installed fat bars, where did you get adaptors that fits our bikes..? And preferebly from Europe as I'm located in Denmark..

I went this route as well and it took much head scratching and money wasted on potential solutions and a bucket of unused spare parts. With hind-sight I would have used Rox Risers which use the stock clamps at the bottom and adapt to 28mm. Take care buying the bars, you need at least 200mm of 22mm diameter to fit the standard throttle and controls on. I used Protaper Pastrana FMX/ATV Race bars. And if you need handguards, BHG15-02: http://www.barkbusters.net/products/253.html are recommended for the TR650 with Protapers and mine fitted without any hassle.
 
I did something similar- pro taper fat bar risers, milled the bottoms flat (the part that is supposed to fit in the original riser won't work) and then whipped up some aluminum spacers (roughly 12mm id, 18mm od X 1"). This gets the bars about an inch higher than stock (plus my bend is higher) so now it's comfy while standing.
 
Even stronger, Powermadd Risers model no 45431, roughly $60 depending on postage. My home mod ended up 3cm higher than stock which was my target to reduce crouch when standing on the pegs.
 
I ordered GPR stabilizer, fatbar version. Therefore I'm looking for fatbar upper clamp only to fit my Terra. If someone might point it out to me, I would be grateful...
 
do the fatter centered bars vibrate less? I've had both, but never on my new tr650, so wondering what the point is ... wanted to get some pro taper bars, with the cross bar. how much do our stock bars weigh? everything I do I try to save weight... wondering what bars I can get that do that.
 
I have the Renthal 7/8 bars. They have the center of the bars filled with anti vibration compound. I noticed a difference with the rear view mirrors vibrate a lot less. The stockers are heavy. My stock bars weight 1.040 KG. I think the Renthals were right around .700 KG but I can't remember the exact weight.
 
I went with the Jimmy Button bend. The bars were almost identical to stock but the height was about 1/2" taller and little wider.
 
Anyone know what bars would be about the same height as stock but angled back further? I hardly ever change bars but I may need to on this bike.

The Renthal 7/8 bar might have something close to the dims of the stock bar, and get more sweep. For Pro Tapers, most of the sweep dims don't vary that much. They do have a 7/8" bar that has about 17mm more sweep, but then it's a lower bar.
 
Thanks Clete, I have plenty of height with my Rox Risers and the bars are back far enough to make them easy to reach. But I still have an ergonomic reason for finding another bar. My right wrist is almost fused and I have limited range of motion. Having the sweep back further would make easier for me to twist the throttle without arm pump. I will look at the Renthals, thanks for the suggestion.

Some vendors such as Rocky Mtn Atv, have a drop down menu for their bars. These provide provide all the relevant dimensions inc sweep etc. Really helps with the figuring out process.
 
is asking what the lightest weight bar from say, pro taper, is? I'd like a similar bar to stock, with a cross bar, but overall lighter, even if by only a gram!
