• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Leo Vince Full Ti - How Much Louder Than Stock ?

I live in a "quiet" elderly neighbourhood.
I Like to travel incognito, without everyone knowing exatly when and where i am by the brap of my exhaust.

To all those 630's with the Leo Vince Full Ti exhaust:

How much lounder is the Leo Ti compared to the stock exhaust:
1) At part throttle - is easy cruising ?​
2) With the engine under load ?​
3) At full y open throttle ?​


How much lounder are the Leo Twin Slip on's compared to the stock exhaust:
1) At part throttle - is easy cruising ?​
2) With the engine under load ?​
3) At full y open throttle ?​

Guys and Gals with the Twin Arrrows are most welcome to chine in too.

Please indicate which system you are running in your replies.

I have the Ti single system. At partial throttle, it's just a bit louder than stock (like when you're leaving your house). It comes alive with the engine loaded and/or the throttle pinned. Then it's pretty loud. I don't have the db killer inserted, though; just the spark arrestor.

If you're concerned about quiet I'd just stick with the stock pipes. Maybe add a db killer on top of that. I've got the twin arrows and wouldn't mind if they were quieter, but still keep that awesome sound. I did an unscientific db test:

How are the Twin Arrows under Load / Full Throttle compared to stock ?

For some reason I always thought the Leo Ti had two cans, that is, until it arrived in the post the other day with only 1 can...Oooops:eek:
I went for the Leo Ti primarilly for the 17lb weight reduction ( thinking it had two can's :confused::confused::confused: ).

I am sure the Arrows are a quieter option, them being two cans instead of the Leo Ti's one can.
Although I have not fitted the Leo Ti, yet I am beginning to think I should have gone for a two can exhaust sollution.
 
I've had both. The full Ti has about the same bark as the FMF Q4 - a bit louder than stock but certainly not bothersome.

The dual slipons are almost as quiet as stock, just a bit more oomph than the oem setup.

I'm a fan of quiet aftermarket exhausts, I have used the FMF Q2 and Q4 on the last few XR's and IMO both of the LV setups for the 630 are good choices. The dual slip-ons are great, I'm glad I ended up with them (Safari tank brace interference w/ full Ti system was why I don't have it on still)

My 610 had an Arrow slip-on that was one of the louder setups they offered, I would have put a db killer on that

Interesting.
Is the can from the Full Ti the same can as comes with the Dual Slip-on ?,
cause if the Ti is too loud for me, then all I need get is another can ?

Also, when you had the full Ti, did you notice the 17lb weight reduction from stock ?

Although I loved the sound of the FMF on my XR650R, it was way too loud for the "quiet" neighbourhood where I stay.

They are louder, but by how much I don't know without a db test. A 15 min ride at high speed makes my ears ring. Another member asked the same question. I was thinking of rigging up a mic boom to the bike and doing some readings.

Even with dual silencers that 600cc mill sure can make a noise.

Have you ever heard the sound of a 630 with Leo's ?
If so how do you think the Arrows compare to the Leo's ?
 
I have the full LV Ti system with db killer installed, no complaints from neighbors as long as I am light on the throttle, away from town I love the sound although it is harder on the rear tire since I have to twist the throttle just to hear it sing:thumbsup:
 
Installed the full TI single on Wednesday. Deeper thump at idle and at steady part throttle. No louder than stock. Grab a handful, or let it sing at high RPM, and it is louder, but not obnoxiously so. This, with the db killer.

Relatively easy install, with one hiccup. The mounting bolt for the mid pipe bracket - suppose to go through the foot rest mount into the frame, was the same size as stock, and too short. I had to remove the rear foot rest to make it work. When I get a chance, I need to measure the bolt they sent, directions say 8 X 55, and get one that works. Anyone else have this issue?

I didn't have that problem as I don't have the passenger pegs installed. I took them off right when I got the bike.
 
The full Leo system has two inserts shipped with it to fit the need for your neighborhood. The insert that reduces it down significantly does make it almost stock sounding when not into the throttle. Running it without either will get a louder "bark"

Thanks for the heads-up on that bolt.
I will check mine before I do my install this week.

I ws going to try the DB killer insert on mine to begin with, but the fit was awfully tight. If I put it in there, it wasn't going to come back out. So, I went with the spark arrester.

One of these days, I might sand down the DB killer just a tad to make it easier to insert.

I did that with both of those I pictured using 400grit sand paper so that I could hear the bark..

The system is definately louder without any spark arrestor and is how I'd run the system for street use if seeking the most performance (assuming the fuel metering is dialed in using the JD sensor).
