• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I guess that all depends on how much time you'll be spending on the tarmac. Must do? No. But if you can afford it and plan to do a lot of road miles, it certainly won't hurt in preserving counter shaft life.
 
Just ordered a 41T for the SMS, we'll see how it goes.

Hopefully I've got enough adjustment not to need a new chain...
 
6k miles and the shock springs on my 610 clutch basket are getting worn.. so is the brass sleeve.

I just bought a new clutch basket.

I may try these to help out the clutch basket in the future.

I'm at 12k miles on my 630 with barely a scuff on the clutch springs. I did replace the basket bushing around 8k miles and file the clutch basket fingers smooth.
 
Got it in and on. The stock sprocket didn't have a lot of wear for 12k miles, and I didn't need a new chain going from 38T to 41T.

Took it through the neighborhood, I'll get a bit more riding on it tomorrow to see if there's any noticeable difference...
 
Well it's definitely much smoother on takeoff and on shifts and I can feel the few extra teeth on acceleration.

Now we'll just have to see how it holds up long-term :)

What about cruising speed, will those extra three teeth slow you down much?

Ratio wise, it's just short of throwing on a 14T front.

My max speed should be around 103, down from 110.

I normally cruise around 70, now the sweet spot seems to be around 65-66, but 70+ isn't uncomfortable.

Still love it as far as the feel and smoothness.

You can tell that half of the little rubber inserts are being compressed pretty hard, and the other half are pulling away from the inner ring a bit. Massive 630 torque and all that, haha.

I emailed Kush to see what they thought about it but got no response. I'm not too worried about it unless inserts start falling out like they would in the first gen...
 
My theft recovered bike had my cush hub KTM woodys wheel on it for most of it's life. It only took a bearing swap to accommodate a different size axle and it was a straight swap. I'll have to check it and see how the basket is holding up. I don't like that my sumo isn't cush, so these sprockets are a nice option to have.
 
My Kush has only 1500 miles and I can see small gaps between the rubbers and the metal. Time will tell. Sure makes the bike feel better.

Mine lasted 7500km.The teeth were still good just the rubbers were busted,they didn't fall out just felt a bit jerky on roll off.Kush got back to me and said there may have been a faulty batch.Ryan from kush sorted it out for me and he has sent another sprocket.Excellent customer service for me.
 
With significant wear showing up on my output shaft I am a little late ordering a Kush Sprocket, but I finally bit the bullet and one is on the way. Lots cheaper than the cush hub and hope it lets my splines last a while longer. The output shaft will eventually have to be replaced though, and maybe a cush hub will happen at the same time.
