  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc just posted my bike up for sale

i like the beta and have no doubt its better than the husky which is an old design at half the price. i dont race and after owning many new ktms over the years including the most relative to this discussion.....a 2012 300xc i bought new......i recently picked up a clean low hour wr300 and for using to recreationally blast around the woods its a great bike. i suppose the new stuff is better but after 30 years of riding i cant tell much difference except that my husky cost a lot less. enjoy the new scoot.

took it for a first ride on MX track today for an easy break in session.

suspension seems softer and and the same time more harsher on landing, but I guess it needs to be broken in a bit. other than than, its awesome!!

much easier to ride than my old WR, weigh and height and steering all seems to be an improvement! I think I am in love..

I'm thinking of a Beta someday and I'm not the tallest guy. How much shorter would you say the seat is than a Husky WR?

I lost a little seat height when I put the correct spring in and adjusted the sag . Probably lost 1/2 inch or so. Still way lower though.

So I gave specs from the manufacturer. Real world, I can actually touch the ground on both sides just fine and kick start it with second foot on the ground.

To climb on WR I needed step ladder.
