  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc just posted my bike up for sale

unbelievable****************************************

who bought my 250!!!?!?!

so as I woke up this morning, i realized that I cant be without bike anymore and called Bob..and another local dealer. both are sold out of TE250.

what am I supposed to do now?? TE300? GG250? beta300?

no, I am still waiting for my WR top end from the shop... but I would buy new one and deal with WR later..dealer suggested I look at Beta 300RR.. it seems to be smaller bike physically and lowest seat height. I'm gonna go check it out.

The 15 Betas have nice improvements over the 14 my but don't let that distract you from a 14 if you could find one.

there is one 300RR at dealer now.. $7500 was his first asking price. but I really want 250 :( and I am concerned about aftermarket support for Beta but the fact that it's smaller physically is really really interesting. I might go check it out.

you guys should be talking me in to TE300!!! :D :D

quick check revealed that everything is more expensive for Beta.. so even if I save anything upfront, i will have to pay for later.. also, I am assuming resale value will be higher on TE300 :) or 250 if dealer can find me one.

That's 500 off msrp. Once people figure out what parts are common and cross over between brands I'm sure parts pricing will come down a bit. For example I got my Sachs shock spring from my HUSKY dealer and it was 30 bucks cheaper. As it is right now the Betas hit the market with more after market support than your current ride. There is also a take off 250 cylinder and head and power valves for sale on Beta rider web site if you want a 250 that bad. I predict resale being right up there with KTM HUSKY. Just my .02's

quick ride around the neighborhood revealed that bike feels much much lighter and quicker steering than old husky. almost telepathic steering. I hope it will not be too quick on the trail. bike responds so well to pressure on pegs its awesome. but the seat did me in. may as well be sitting on 2x4. gotta get seat done asap. estart and lower seat height is sooo nice..

my fist impression is that engineering level and amount of thought that went in to the bike is way above husky WR. I just hope italians did not have too much vino during lunch break and put it all together well, to match engineering quality. suspension feels very stiff so far and I think I need float level adjusted as back of the bike was drenched when I got home. never happened on husky

Nice! It's way more like a White Husky TE250, than anyone on this BB is willing to admit...... Enjoy!

Haven't rode a TE250 yet but would love to as I'm a bike whore and will ride anything with two wheels and a motor. Bet you he didn't pay the TE250 price though.

They did a good job of greasing the head set bearings on mine, but not the linkage swing or lower shock. Just fyi. The seat is not that bad after a few rides, give it a chance before you spend money on it. There's currently a seat thread over on Betarider. Org if your interested.

took it for a first ride on MX track today for an easy break in session.

suspension seems softer and and the same time more harsher on landing, but I guess it needs to be broken in a bit. other than than, its awesome!!

much easier to ride than my old WR, weigh and height and steering all seems to be an improvement! I think I am in love..
