  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Is the 300 right for me??

its a TEC, or know as a two stroke exhaust controller, it slows to opening of the power valve to give you a more predictable power delivery. it works awesome. take look of pics of andreas lettenbichlers wr300 from erzberg, youll see the same thing on his bike

I'm sold, a little more control of the awesome power the WR300 has can only be a good thing. Having the power band hit in hard whilst tackling rocks and logs can be a little dicey. How would a combo of a Rekluse and TEC work?

I like the way the TMX makes the stock bike run. If it makes the bike start easier, then I might get a PWK eventually.

absolutly no starting issues after the switch,The starting used to my biggest complaint about this bike.I have never loved a bike so much

After reading some of the negative posts on this forum about the brand I am really glad to see all of this positive feed back here. I love my husky.

Hall's can get them, but they are expensive. I'd actually recommend getting a lot of other stuff before I got the TEC. Fork springs, crab and race head would be on the short list before the TEC.

After 3 heat cycles on the motor I took the bad "girl" out for a testing session last weekend. I rode for about an hour with random throttle changes, but never full-on throttle. My buddy (ex factory Suzuki mechanic to Rodney Smith) jetted the Mikuni carb for me with a 430 main, 45 pilot and moved the needle one notch down from the center. All I can say is what a beast! We rode for about 2 hours, and he said I was already faster on it than my KX450F I had been riding for quite a few years! Actually the only problem I had was using the clutch again, as I am waiting to get enough funds for a Rekluse :-) My bike shop is also setting me up with some really cool race graphics (attached). Well, gonna go to my first race Sunday, the Mid-South Cross Country "BIG STRIPPER". Hope to do the Husky proud :-)Superbike Graphics.jpg

What company made those graphics? I like

im curious about the wr300 even though im happy with the performance and handling of my 2010 300xcw. im getting tired of replacing fork seals.

question for anyone whos done it : who is a good shop to have the sachs shock valved and sprung? and price for the work?

I had my front forks and rear shocks modified at Enduro Engineering. I am very happy with the result. Cost was about $500. The work was done promptly and customer service was excellent.
