    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Rod,

We actually have both bikes here in our showroom and the rear hubs appear to be identical. I am confident that the sprocket for a G650GS will fit the TR650.

Will your SS-49T sprocket fit the Husky TR650 rear hub ? Husky cafe says some gs parts work. Could send me the bolt lay out and hub diameter or confirm.

Great thread.

Rear sprocket compatability is of interest. I want to get a larger rear, from Supersprox because IronMan doesn't do anything for us. I've not been able to confirm which exact model of 650GS to look at regarding sprockets. Supersprox had a good variety compared to everyone else.
 
Other G650 GS Touratech parts that work on Terra:
- Rear Brake Master Cylinder Guard:
- Rear Brake Fluid Reservoir Guard;
- Gear change levers - both folding and adjustable;
- Pegs - lowered or adjustable or 'Workz'.
 
I have the part # from Touratech SS-49T. If you plug it into search the models will be listed..I think its all singles up to 2007 The spark plugs are NGK 6869 MAR9A-J-G06 multi bridge design. I have not found an interchange to another brand. CA cycle works sells them.....Ducati guys will know about Ca cycle works....good guys

I have the 49T here and it does fit the Terra. Box says it came from drive systems and fits F650/X-Challenge/X-Country . The chain will not fit, too short and the chain pins are and odd size. I had to put a new chain on but will get a stock master link and counter shaft to put away for a complete stock back up.

The way it works....before you had to lead in with power well before the clutch to get the bike move and you got little feed back or sensation of what was going on...with a back country load on the bike it would have been interesting to get underway on anything but level ground. NOW....you can trade clutch for throttle and move out cleanly, with a sense of what's is going on with the engine clutch engagement point.....mind you now, it is none too low geared, you can just control things better while you are pulling away. I think this may be a good compromise.
 
If you break your front sprocket cover don't fret, plenty of 'em on Ebay from 2001-?? BMW F650 models. The one I bought was from a 2003, even after 10 years the part bolts right on, now that must be one very well designed motor to remain unchanged (externally) for so many years. I kind of like the silver over the black. Part felt twice as heavy as the original though. Don't ask me how I broke it.:naughty:

I'm not asking...just thinking...maybe it had something to do with a sand wash and maybe a rock. Or, it just fell over in the garage. :). Nice tip though.
 
Factory wind screen report. I just installed the Husky replacement wind screen and like it very much. I am 5'8" and the wind is just at the base of my helmet. The helmet is in clean air and quiet at speed. The wind management on the bike with the factory hand guards is good. I do not like sitting in a still air pocket or getting buffeted around behind an ill working wind screen, it get's over a 100 in summer over here in summer. So, no pressure on the chest, clean air on the helmet, nice amount of air flow over your hands for hot weather and just a lite breeze around my body.
 
I inquired with Barkbusters, regarding what handguards they produce will fit the TR. Upon examining the bike when it first arrived in Australia they believe their model specific to BMW G650GS will fit straight on. BHG45-NP. The Operations Manager did indicate that they were awaiting on feedback from two customers. The SW-Motech guards is the Barkbuster BHG46-NP model which is a generic design. When that model was fitted to the BMW it did come into contact with the tank shrouds at full lock.
Both versions are as yet untested on the TR. I suspect the BMW specific one will work fine though. The contact did expect to be able to provide some confirmation soon.

They are the same ones as for the F650GS..more than that I couldn't tell you...

Thinking about a set of Pivot Pegz for the Strada. Anyone know which part number is a direct fit? I was thinking the F650GS or F800GS might work, but haven't seen any posts about it. IF you know please let me know!

I think FabOneUp put pivot pegs on his Terra. Can't remember what thread it was in. Terraformers, Farkles, or Mods.
 
Thank you! I thought I had seen this a few weeks ago, but then when I went searching I couldn't find it. Looks like a pretty direct bolt on. Many THANKS!!! Do you guys all recommend the MK3 as the preferred setup?
