• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Well, we had our eye on Three Forks on the Owyhee but we had more ambition than time so that ride will have to wait til next time. Do you know if there's gas available in Rome?


And thanks, everyone, for the compliments. I had a great time on the ride, and had a good time putting the report together. Next time, though, I'm going to split the photos up into 2 separate photo albums on PhotoBucket; the file was so big it was taking forever to get the photos in the post:banghead:

:lol: Thanks, Ace! We rode Thurs, Fri, Sat and Mon (I'm not including the little 40-mile attempt on Sunday when Eric's fuel screw fell out) and logged 608 miles. We only meant to do a short trip on Thursday, the day we got there, but it turned into a much bigger ride than we thought...but we were happy about it! :thumbsup:

I still haven't posted photos of the wildflowers :D

Hey : I saw you reply on ADV rider , the post on Northeast Or. My son(Greg) is the rider in blue helmet, red jacket, yellow Suuzuki. His buddy Jim was on the Husky 610. I referred him to your story( In search of water) . His remark was , ' I know that area and all the soaking springs " He really enjoyed the report as did I . Thanks: Julio

Been a while since I was thru there, but if I remember right, that is about the only thing in Rome.

I can only imagine the glowing eyes of that skull when she was riding!

Talk about a super moderator picture - very intimidating. :D

Great report and exellent photos of your trip, I'd love to talk to you guys about maps of the area's. Nick and I had fun reading about the adventure.

Awesome.

Just recently joined and i am going through the rides and posts slowly---Great RR and some AWESOME pics---If i may say so. Makes me want to out and Riiiiiiiide into the Sunset. Although i see and ride in areas you all may never ride in -----here in South Africa. I love to see where you all are riding on the other side of the world. Thank's for sharing.:thumbsup:
