    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

I'm in the same boat racemx904 except I need to test a 200 along side my 144. I may get a chance as a few new club members have the 200 KTM's. I hear the 200's don't have much low end but my 144 does so I can't see the 200's having less...or do they?
 
Well my 200 doesn't have the low end my 125 had... And comes on strong in the middle... I want my toddler back
 
That's wierd I've never ridden a 200 but figured it would have more low end than even a 144/165. My Husky CR144 will pull small hills at a crawl speed in 2nd gear without even thinking about using the clutch. BTW I'm a little over 200 lbs!
 
I had an 04 KTM 200 EXC. It was a fun bike. Depending upon the type of needle used (single, double, or triple tapered), you could change the low-mid characteristics. Mine pulled smoothly through the range without a big hit. My friends KTM 250 EXC was like a lightswitch when it came on the pipe. It was horrible. So jetting is very important. Next, is the powervalve spring that is used. My only complaint on the KTM 200 was that it was very twitchy in the handling at speed. A steering damper was necessary on that bike. Perhaps they are different now. Overall, I would say my old KTM 200 was more like a 250 than a 125. The Husky 125 feels so much lighter when riding it.
 
Good info Matt. I'm not a KTM fan as my son had two and the KTM bike ergos just didn't feel good to me. I did think their 200's were lighter than the Husky 125's but it sounds like they may not be or did you mean "feel/ride" lighter?

Our leading bike buyers seem to be running out of steam. I thought for sure you were getting a GG 200 and Kreig says he is content with his current stable of bikes for the first time in his life. Dealers might be in for a long winter....

You are suppose to get Walt 144rd! Unless you leap and go MR 165'd?
 
LOL I'm getting a new bike just don't know which. The 200 GG's will be the last one's shipped so I have a few months. If the WB 165 has as much bottom-mid as it I may get a 2012 250 GG with e-start :D! I have the 08 CR 144 WS (Walt Special) now but my son thinks the newer frames 09 up are better than the older ones and I should get a new/newer 125 for the WB165. I took my 2010 Husky TC250 out for some MX and trail riding last Sunday and it felt extreamly GOOD. He may have a point; this time. Krieg's been the quiet one I think he's up to somthing!

Well... I did just trade my Kawi ER6n for an Aprilia Dorsoduro... but dirtbike wise, I've reached Nirvana. Check back in May. :D
 
My KTM 200 feel like a 250sx to me...real pipey...super hard to keep the front wheel on the ground...really hard to ride fast.....
 
I didn't know that about the 200 KTM's maybe the GG 200's are better woods bikes. I really think the WB165 will have all the bottom and mid I'll ever need. BTW I told you guys Krieg was up to something; another street bike! I also bet he won't make it till May before he's on another new dirt bike LOL. Hey K how are the WB165's comming along?
 
I recently rode a new 200xcw and I didn't care for it much. The motor felt like a small 250 mx'er. It was weak down low and then exploded in the mid and made real nice power up top. The real deal breaker for me was the small feel and twitchy handling.
It was a beautiful bike, but definitely not for me.

I put some miles on my cr125 in the woods yesterday and it felt like an old friend. I wish every bike had those ergo's.
It could use a few more cc's to get me up the hills though!

Have you played with the PV adjustment? Jetting and PV adj have big affect on my bike. Low end on my 200 has never seemed to be an issue. Have you read the lengthy "07 XC" thread in ktmtalk jetting forum? Lots to find there about PV adj too.
FWW will help too.
 
Ya we screwed with jetting a lot... Plug checks out perfect... We have the power valves adjusted right... This thing flat hauls... Hard to kick with a 125 kicker... Soft on bottom( husky had more) and comes on in the mid then top it's like I hear my front tire gasping for ground... The 200 is peppyier which I like just not pipey... Ergos on ktm are not bad just not husky... Gasgas totally out of question for me they are made for midgets... I felt like I was riding an 85...
