  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

Talking about good woods bars, I use Moose Flex Series Mini bars. Slightly higher and straighter bend. Already 29.5" so no cutting and plenty of room for controls.

Tim good looking ride! Ya know, that is a good idea, picking up an older 125 then just converting it to the 165. I just might have to do that.

BTW, Kelly if you would like to try our Gasgas EC200 to give a comparison, I could bring it on out to one of our local haunts and I could try the Husky. I wasn't able to make it to the demo with my son's B-Ball tourny.

When the weather clears lets do just that.

I have done that before and that ends up slightly narrow for me and most those seems to have to much sweep for me too. These are more narrow that the husky bars and perfect bend for me.

Interesting and brings back 80s memories from NY where most of my ride buds would use KX80 bars on their machines, mostly on KDX200s but also some WR Huskys and even an M-Star 250.

I just put my WB165 kit in my new to me WR125 . I went out a kind of local track with some trails thrown in. This kit really runs good, I installed the kit with a Mikuni TMXX , Doma pipe and Leo vince silencer. Walt has done an amazing job with the kit it just strait up rips top to bottom. The most amazing part is running it with the WR ignition , it spools up so fast and has NO lag . It is really hard to believe that it runs as good as it does.

Nice Job Walt:cheers:

Did you have any problems fitting the TMXX ? I think it is shorter than the flat slide TMX. I want to try the TMXX on my 167 but I hear its to short for my 2007 WR.

Ok, was the reed spacer over the counter or home made, and how thick?

Bill , it is a moose racing for a Honda Cr125, it is 10mm thick

How does the Doma perform on yours? How is it Compared it to the KTM SX Fatty pipe

Walt , The Doma works really well , maybe slightly less power than the modded Ktm pipe . It pulls hard off the bottom with a fat mid and really good over rev. I think the long length of the Leo silencer helps the top end too. The Doma also tucks up higher the the Ktm pipe , which is a plus.

I have a Leo and haven't tried it yet, but a I run a Husky Euro spec WR125 longer silencer instead of the US spec CR/WR125 shorty. I always thought the longer silencer improved top end.

This NY rider hears you loud and clear.....nothing is as tight as South Jersey....they call it New Jersey because thats what you will need after 70 mile enduro....a new jersey!

Who ever compares the GG200 to the WB165 please start another thread with that in the heading so I don't miss it. I keep thinking I want a 200 but this WB165 may just be exactly what I'm looking for.

John,

The cost of the kit is not too bad when you consider that you will get "near-200 like' performance from your current bike. Or you could spend $$$ for a new bike + more $ to customize/tailor the new bike to your preferences. Worst case scenario is that the 165 is not meeting your expectations. You can recoup the cost by reselling the kit here or the whole bike which is now more appealing to others (i.e., higher asking price). IMHO, there is not much to lose but a whole lot to gain.

FYI... my 08 CR125 will be joining the 165 club very soon.

Yeah Matt I'm 99.99% sure the WB165 would be all that I need in a Husky. Me being height challenged at 5' 7" my 2010 GG300 "fits" me better thus my interest in them. I love my CRWS144 and like you will more than likely joing the WB165 club and if I do I'm gonna get the Husky lowered and the suspension done while I'm down waiting on the WB kit. Hey Kelly let me know what you think about the GG200 please.

I have a GasGas 200 and prefer my WR250 ove the 200 which makes me think I would prefer the 200 over any 165, 144 or 125. I have not ridden a Husky 125 but would love to, however personal preference is everything so if I were you I'd ride all of them and then buy one.
