  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

Nah, that one is in Oregon. Pretty close to where they used to hold the Trask ISDE qualifier back in the day. Did you come do any of those?

Later,

Went to about every Trask from 1977 till they quit having ISDE Qualifiers. The early ones had 230mile days.

We have several cylinders getting reworked right now and are awaiting the next batch of custom pistons. Everything will be included, bolt on kit. We will need your cylinder and powervalves setups to redo for the next kit. Cylinder and everything but the PV cover and actuation arm. If you want your exact cylinder back we can do that too but would take additional time. The original idea is get this stuff in stock (end of the month we hope) and simply do exchange. Make sense?

Thanks.

I did broke 4 ribs:( yesterday and it would thus the prefect time to do an whole engine revision in the coming months.

assuming that the reviews so far all been done with a Kheihin air striker carb it would for me than also logical to change that at the same time.

the TMX is to sensitive on its jetting with respect to temp and humidity levels that can change quickly here in the tropics.

besides the pipe (I would source that probably in Europe (a doma or a HSG)) depending a bit on the outcomes of more test info in this forums.

is there anything else that have to take in consideration (like reeds, exhaust valve springs or different silencer)

could a package deal a possibility? cylinder kit, carb, gaskets. (probably also an rear rotor protector)

I would try to get my cylinder hand carried over on the plane and the hopefully possible package back the same way (it should not be to heavy in a suitcase)

best regards

Robert-Jan

Nice. This area is north and a little west of there. Less clay base and more rocky rooty. The Trask ISDE area and Flying K ranch are all but closed now. you can ride close to there and it is good. Can ride from there to where the vid is.

you ever want to ride here grab your gear bag and come on out, got bikes for ya.

First off sorry to hear about your injury, broken ribs are no fun.

I am testing with the PWK but the TMXx would probably work fine to (which the right needle). Guys are making them work. I have several of those carbs to try so i will do that and sort it out. the PWK is much EZer to jet and does seem a lot less temperamental. Nothing else really needed (like reeds, exhaust valve springs or different silencer). The KTM 200SX pipe works great and I'll let you know shortly how the other pipes like the FMF and Doma do. I think they will work fine but you might loose some power here and there. We will see. I will always make package deals. Also international shipping is not that bad. We can make this happen. Send me an Email and we will work on it.

have ridden that area a good part of my life i can't imagine 230 miles a day. Crazy. :notworthy: to you whom did that... wow.

I am with you, unless 100+ of that is gravel I just don't see many people doing it in under 12 hours. Our long ride at Gifford this year was 114 miles, about 20 of that was gravel. We were moving for just over 6 hours, with the gas stop lunch stop and waiting at intersections we finished in just over 7.5 hours. Idaho City was not a Qualifier this year and it was 115 miles the first day and 110 the second. I just don't see 230 miles of that type of trails in a day unless the organizers wanted people sleeping on the course... :D

I am not man enough. :busted:

Later,

Holy Smokes**************************************** I felt good about the 75mi ISDE I've done up there the last two years.... NO FREAKING way, I could get that kind of mileage in up there, even on the longest day of the year!!!

LOL, We had quite a bit of dirt road and logging road. It was probably 12 miles from the trail to the MX track also. So there is 24 miles. We also rode across "WHITE FACE". That is a long way down if you make a mistake.
