  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc I Rode The Prototype Wr200 And It Is Amazing...

I have a modded carb that a fellow member gave me that works sweet on my Walt high compression CR144 so I'm hoping it will do the same for the WB165. If it doesn't I think I may get a new carb from Kelly.

John,

My darling wife said that your top end is at my house with quite a few other goodies. My guess is that your 144 settings will work pretty well with minor admustments for the 165. Should be home early next week to get to work.

Cool Walt. My poor Ex 144 is just sitting in the garage topless waiting as some light snow falls. No worries it will be back up in the 60*'s by mid week. Can't wait and I have the head swap deal down now. Thanks enjoy the rest of your stay.

I am playing golf from here on out so "enjoy" is a very relative term. :banghead:
Thanks though.

The new pipe works great. My tire choice and 14/52 gearing was perfect. Very muddy event. I tore a groin muscle which slowed me down but I ended up 12th out of 44 entries in class.

I rode yesterday with a little additional snow (6-12" total). Some deep drifts that worked as the "Dirt Bike Dyno". I'd say the 165 is nicely broken in now.... starts a little easier and revs a little more freely. When you push it in the snow, you can see peak RPM's for power has dropped, but just shift up and enjoy that torque curve!

Ouch on the groin pull Vinduro; congrats on a soild finish. I may end up with the same gearing. Walt I still say a golf course is best played on two wheels.

is there a market for the old 125 cylinders (in good condition) or can the new 125/144 cylinders now be bored to 165.i will be looking at a 144 next rebuild and was wondering if a pert ex on a new 144 cylinder would be the go.

Most 125 cylinders can be referbished to a 165cc.

This morning, my left thigh is mostly black and blue ! Some bluing from the previous weekend on my right leg. I am hobbling around like an old man. My right eye is half blood red due to getting roosted by Bobbit and Farringer.

Vinduro at least your battle scars are from racing. LOL I slid down my stairs this moring with one leg in front of me and the other behind me! I didn't know at 53 my foot can still reach the back of my head :oldman::lol: .

LOL I'm fine just a lttle carpet burn on my shin as it trailed me down the stairs. Heal up quick so you can compete in your next race. "Scorpion"...... I'll have to let the grand kids know I can still do such a thing K.:D Without the sissy skates too!

well got my CR144 today....now I just need to scrap together my pennies for the 165....I cant wait..altough the 144 rips....

OK If what I have been told is TRUE MR Doctor WALT has had enought time off .No more golf, beer, and riding. Time to get back to the 165. We have all been waiting long enought

Glad you had a good time now that your mine is clear what it the next thing you are going to come up with in the world of the 165
