  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Husqvarna WR250 Mikuni TMX Carb Idle Screw

Hi Guys,

I have a 2007 Husky WR250 and need to find a replacement idle screw for the mikuni TMX carb. In our country I cant find an original anywhere.

Can anyone give me the dimensions of said screw, i cant find it on the internet anywhere :(
Also would a normal household screw fitting that dimension work ?

Thanks for any advice :)

Regards.

I went ahead and ordered on too, as the stock set-up is about the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. I read where some variants need some carb modding. Any of you know if the CR carb is one of those? Not a big deal either way, just planning ahead...

I have one on my '06 125 and did not have to make any modifications. Best mod for the $ I ever made. A similar thumb screw for the air screw would be great too.

I was just thinking about this while riding my CR165 this past weekend. My son sent his TM carb off to Ron at RB and he put these type screws on the idle and air and it sure makes it a lot easier. Thanks for the info dirtdame; much appreciated!

had an old tm carb lying around which has a thumb screw and spring set up just had to take off some of the thread on the shaft the original was about as useful as tits on a bull.

Just installed my new idle screw. Fits perfect, I can adjust my idle with no tools! What was Mikuni thinking?

Installed mine this weekend . I did have to break out the file to remove a little of the fuel inlet. I didn't get into the inlet bulge just the tip of the inlet. No big deal. Works great.
