  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

And a few days later.

Here is the list of changes.
- Rebuild the engine (Rod, bearings, seals, chain, piston etc)
- Powder-coated frame, swingarm, engine
- Swap front brake (brake disc Husky 630, brake cliper from Husqvarna 701, pump from GSX-R 1000, brake lines HEL)
- Rebuild front suspesion
- New bearings in swingarm, frame etc
- New chain rollers and slides
- New bearing in rear suspension
- Wheels from Husqvarna 630 SM
- Galvanizing all screws
- New a few more parts
And many other new parts that I forgot :D

Project in progress.

The screws all look new, but quite expensive to buy them all new, if available. Replated = new zinc plating.

Looking awesome! Does this engine have a counter balancer?

If I get to the point where I split my engine, I would really like to install one.

Yes, I have a balancer in this engine, but I rebulding engine from TXC 510 2008 now and It's also without balancer. All what you need to instal is 4pc bolts, 2pc metal plate for hold bearing, 2 bearings, balancer of course, and gear on crankshaft and thats it.

Finally, I had some free time :D

Work in progress.

I have to do:
Rebuild carburator
Rebuilt electrical installation with install speedometr (with rpm's) and ignition switch
Sew the sit
Start the engine :P

to buy:
Front sprocket
Rear sprocket
Chain
Intake manifold (I can't find new, Husqvarna OEM is unavaliable)

Hey I was just curious where you get the parts for your rebuild? I’m currently looking to buy a piston kit for my 06 smr510. I also need to buy a new cam chain and top end gaskets. Thanks!

I have a new piston, cam chain and gaskets if you are still looking.

I have piston from Wossner, but Prox made it too. Cam chain from DID. I'll check parts numbers tomorrow.
