• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Husqvarna TC150

maybe we can get the new people to change that i think its kinda weird they did it that way in the first place maybe a 125 GG wont go to 200 but i'd try a 125 hogged out to the max

I just got an email from IMS, that they are not planning to do a tank for the '16 TC125 in the near future. I looked at the '16 FC250 listing and they do have a 2.7 gallon tank. I wonder how it would fit the 125? If it did, you could block off the fuel pump outlet hole with plate and drill a hole for the petcock....

Rumor posted in 2017 thread on KTM Talk, that there will be no KTM 125EXC in Europe next year. Since Europe is the biggest market for 125EXC and TE125, for use as street learner bikes.... Will there be no TE125 in Europe too? I wonder what's going to happen in other markets?
I just read on UK KTM Forum, that Husky will build a TX125 next year. It will be up to small companies in various countries, to bring the bike into street homologation. Valenti in Italy doing Suzuki Enduro bikes, is an example. TX150 estart anyone?

TX? [ 2t DS?] we won't ever see that state side
TX as in off road, but not full enduro, which in Europe means street legal. Euros don't know what a Dual Sport bike is, as everything from a 50cc 2T to a 500 4T enduro is street legal.

I imagine it would be like a KTM XC in US, Canada, Australia and UK markets.... No light kit, but an enduro lighting coil ignition and wiring harness, odometer, kick stand, big tank and 18" rear wheel.

Today was the first full day on the 150 with Lectron got to say it really ran nice all day in the early spring slop. This chassis is more like the red husky other than taller bars and a tall seat will be a must.

Did you have to trim and shorten the air box boot, where it attaches to the carb? You mentioned previously, that you were concerned about shock clearence, how did that work out?

Put the bike on a stand with the wheels off the ground and it will touch so slightly. As soon as it on the ground its clear and gets wider with me on it. Should this begin to rub a hole I will look into it again. Did call lectron and they know how close it is.
The new air filter is trick.

No adjustment. Adjustment will have to be through the CDI programming

Of course a savy machinist can whip up an offset flywheel key. Or, little secret, the key isn't there to hold the flywheel in place, just to locate it. It doesn't even have to be in there. I'm sure Walt knows this I'm just throwing it out there.

Major interest in this thread. I want the 16, before they come with the 48AER fork in 17.

Is Husky getting the 150 in 17, I see the 17 KTM 150xcw will have a E-button and the new chassis and am putting a deposit on one this week.

I finally got the stock TC125 to the dyno this evening. I apologize for the long wait but life has really gotten in the way for me. Had my first ride of the year last week so I hope to have more time. I am going to try to get the 150 kit mounted up in stock form tomorrow and get to the dyno Friday afternoon.

The 125 curve is a thing of beauty. Just one long, smooth pull to ~12.5 K rpm. Almost looks 4T like. Uncorrected rear wheel hp on this dyno was 31.8 at 12K rpm. For comparison a late model Yamaha WR290 was making several hp less. I will try to get a downloadable file that I can post of all the curves on one map when I am done. I don't really worry about the number as dyno's and conditions vary so much. I can tell you that is 4-5 hp more than a stock Husky CR 125 that was well tuned on the same dyno. This test was done with stock jetting other than pilot size so there are probably a couple more hp if tuned perfectly. Altitude is 3300' if you want to start doing some corrections to get equivalent hp at sea level. But that is counter to what I am trying to do. I want to get comparable curves with comparable states of tune for several different combinations.

Schedule is to get the stock 150 test Friday, 1st level Mod 150 done by Tuesday of next week. I will then be doing some more work that will take more time and effort and will be dependent on some parts orders. Hopefully when all is done you will have some data that makes sense to you and what you need for your riding.

I can tell you that there is a Husky TE 150 in my future. This bike is so light, flickable, and easy to ride.

Thanks to Bill and the guys at Bill's Motorcycles Plus for making this all possible. They are the bomb. They probably were wondering if I was still alive. I also want to thank the Grizzly Harley Davidson/Husqvarna for making there dyno available to me.

More soon!

Thanks for taking the time to do all this.

Psst, you should strap a 165 bike on the dyno while you are there. You know, for comparison :D

I got the 150 mounted up and heat cycled last night. It runs great. Jetting on the bottom wasn't perfect but roll on was smooth and pulled cleanly and well to the moon. I have a conflict now for getting the 100 mile round trip to the dyno done today but will make it either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

One thing is the KTM/Husqvarna parts on this bike are top notch and clearly a cut above Ktm motors that I have messed with in the past. There is more to be found in this little motor but it really runs well in stock 150 form. Have I mentioned how light and flickable this bike is?! I almost want to supermoto it as it is so quick and fun.
