  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna SM 510 too much for a beginner?

I bought the SMR450. I signed the papers, they installed a new battery, I started the moto and it's great. Tomorrow they will deliver the 450 to my garage :)

Do you think I have to change the oil, and filters, or I can use the oil that came with. It was never started before, so the oil was never used, even if the bike stand in the showroom for 7 years.

I will start spending little by little, planing to buy Reevu FSX1 helmet, '08 SMR450 plastics, Seat Concepts softer seat, Rizoma fluid tank, Acerbis handlebars, axle crash pads, '10 SMR450 or '08 EXC KTM headlight, Michelin Pilot Power tires, RHK hydraulic brake lever, RHK clutch lever, RHK footpegs, K&N filters.

If you guys have other/better suggestions, please tell me. Tomorrow I will add photos. Forever world champions :)

Brilliant Neal, cant wait to see pix.

I would definately change the oil. If the bike has 0 miles on it then I suspect you are going to find all manner of goodies on the 1st oil change. Is the shop going to do the 1st service for you included in the price?

No, it will cost me 90€. They said that being never started, the oil is still good for the first 1000km, but I will change it.

Nice job, congratulations bike trade. it depends on what it is made of that seven-year period, if nothing.

WOW...It's brutal :D

I don't regret that I got the 450 and not the 510, because it's VERY brutal.
I have concerns that I will have to change the gears much sooner than the 510, but for now the power it's scary :)

The tires are hard. Even if the bike was never started, the tires got hard after 7 years of sitting in the showroom. I almost fell when I pressed the brake.
I will change them, with Michelin Power Pilot I think.

I am looking for a helmet, and I don't know what should I get. I wanted the Reevu FSX1 but after I read the reviews is not that great. I want a modular flip-up helmet, so I think I will get the Schuberth C3 for 450 euro. I like Icon Variant Construct, but it's not a flip-up. Suggestions?

Looks awesome, very good choice buy Husky, they are awesome bikes. That not look wrong...I dont see point why chainge those plastics. Thats perfect, maybe some different grapichs, maybe. That look soo cool
