  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just wondering what everybody else is doing with there reg papers for the TE, just toss them in your jacket pocket while riding? I have a XR650L as well as the TE but a screwed a nice tool pack above rear fender..not sure if I want that on the TE fender..!?? Thoughts!?

In a ziplock bag under seat tucked under cross brace. You could put some tape there to hold it as well.

Use clear contact paper (shelf liner) and laminate them. I stick it under the hand bar pad or in the tank bag on my bikes that have a tank bag.

I made a duct tape pouch (think duct tape wallet) and attached it to the bottom of the seat. The papers are in a plastic baggie inside the pouch, just in case.

I used a Foodsaver vacuum sealer sealed up my registration and insurance card, and zip tied the whole works to the cross brace under the seat, works great. Hopefully I never have to access them;)

I stick mine in a baggie and put them under the crossbar pad cover....or tape them in a baggie behind the front number plate.:)

I've got mine in a ziploc in my Giant Loop handlebar bag. It fits a cell phone and a couple other small things. I only cary a $10, maybe I'm optomistic. image.jpg

ziplock bag folded up under the battery ruberband hold down. I also have a scanned copy with my DL and Mil ID incase I decide to jsut take off without a wallet for a short ride. I would hope a po po would understand if they pulled me over

will now change my current method to the "under the seat approach"...always ride with a camel back to enable tools, fuel (body), and registration/insurance/license. I have had to show when I came across to OPP cruisers tucked into a ditch performing a speed trap. The blue plate put me at ease and after a few minutes of cops checking out the bike I comfortably roosted down the ditch ;)

wolfman enduro pocket with 9mm, wallet, cellphone, lighter, registration, insurance on the tank.

zip lock with registration, insurance card squeezed in next top battery under rubber strap. I carry my wallet and cell phone, tools etc in my enduro fanny pack. Not sure my pistola would fit under the seat.

That's Tinken's backup under the seat, well one of them.;)
