• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

husky bmw hybrid

With an Akra full exhaust and a PCv I was able to add 4.5rwhp. Rumor is another 3-4rwhp is available with a 480cc piston kit. I'm pretty sure that's where the 8hp increase over the BMW G450X comes from,... A 480 kit (510??) with "power up kit" installed aka de-restricted. If HSQ offers a better muffler (like 2010 g450) and then clean up the fueling 4rwhp is easily obtainable. The BMW fueling is very adaptive and runs strong without help, but it's way rich. Adding a PCv leaned I up so not only we there a rwhp increase, fuel mileage went up 20%

Well I must say I am extremely disappointed with the new Husky.
I purchased my first dirt bike (XR600) brand new back in 1994 when I was 18 years old. After a bit over 63000 kms and many modifications to the engine I finally bit the bullet in 2009 and purchased a new TE510. I can't say a bad word about the TE510, as it has been flawless so far and has power to burn. Now I see this new Husky about to be launched in front of me and I can see I am not going to be able to form the warm fuzzy relationship over 15 years with my TE510. I WANT THE NEW ONE**************************************** Damn you Husky Relic my bank account is going to take another big hit!

I agree with you Clayton. Im the kind of people who always buy new but then keeps everything for long time (car, bike,.....). I keept my xr400 for 10 years and when i changed my bike to a te510 i thougt it would last for much time. I like my bike a lot and it has been flawles,. but the new one is so sweet. I need one. I hope i am able to wait until the 2012 appears. I hate everyone at husky and specially scot because of telling us so nice things.

For some reason this picture with Juha on it makes the bike look better to me. :excuseme:

Can't wait to see him race it. :applause:

+1!!! I think it will be up front right out of the box, especially with U-Haul!!!

I'll re-post this, as it was the 1st post for me in this forum, and got sort of buried back there for a while. However, I thought this a somewhat legit question:

What do you reckon for 2011 showroom sales for enduros: This all-new 2011 Husky 450 with the BMW engine (branded Husky) and all the goodies vs. standard 2011 BMW G450X?

Looking at the specs alone, if you're not a die-hard BMW fanboy, what an earth makes the G450X sell next year, I wonder, even with good press? Husky's got the same goods, plus stepped up to the next level with them, has our Juha & the WEC team riding it, BMW dealer network mostly not off-road oriented vs. Husky's, etc...?

I'm liking this new Husky a lot, a whole lot. Hope it comes with kick-ass paint/graphic job as well. (It really does count, imho, the G450X graphics are so damn lame it has the looks of a prototype on the sale floor...)

The production engine will say Husqvarna.

Scot I read the KYMCO engine will be assembled in centrostyle.....assuming this includes a little massaging and love by the Italian husqvarna engineers....

is that correct ???

Where does this stuff come from? The reason it is assembled at Kymco is to take advantage of the cost savings. It will be built to our specifications though.

As I said before in order to keep costs down outsourcing is the only way forward.

What is your source?

The source was obviously an unreliable one.....via a thread on another forum....I personally have no quarrel with where the engine is produced...thanks for clarifying that

more questions Scot....

colors...are we staying traditional husqvarna ??

what about weight.....are we in the ball park ???

will it be ready for September release...??

will we be same price as big 5..??

Appreciate the answers/input Scot. You are an incredibly busy person, with a ton of things to do, please don't feel compelled to answer every single question. Although the answers are interesting!

Thanks Coffee,

I'll check back in next week. The answers to all the questions will be revealed in time. Have to leave a few surprises. Besides until we share all the official info with our dealers I should probably shut up for now.

My gut says Ahola and Cervantes, are laying in there beds after the Italy event asking what the heck just happened! Juha is an outstanding rider and person. Honered his contract and worked through the tuff times. Great repersentive for the sport and Husqvarna/BMW. He's fired up so watchout!!!
Same with the desert guys the bike just REEKS speed.

This really is a good one! Centrostile is the design studio: lots of CAD workstations and a clay modelling studio but it's not a production facility.

I want to say Thank You to Husky Relic :ride: for all your hard work, and input here at CH. Thank's!

I want to apologize for the SNAFU post....and passing on info that was less than creditable....I really put my foot in my mouth with that one

It has been brought to my attention(by my guardian angel lol) that there was a labor dispute surrounding some issues with Husqvarna...and it came to an ugly head at the opening of Centrostyle..lets not go there

It honestly was NOT an attempt to draw any attention to the issue or attempt any "direction by indirection"...

I apologize to Coffee and most importantly to Scot

and for everybody else.....dont adjust your set

lets get back to the bike......

I thought it was incredibly funny, no need to apologize, things like this happen all through life and on forums. :)

I suppose that is one of the ways cafe husky is a bit unique, on most forums people could get 'excited' and type all sorts of things. Here we, or at least Husky Sport and I, found it funny.

Good idea, but I'm not quite sure what else could be said/asked? Feel free to post away!

I wouldnt be too worried about the Kymco produced engine. Kymco makes quality stuff. There is a big difference between Taiwan and China.
