• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

husky bmw hybrid

I think they went for a modern KTM look, which might be okay except I think they forgot about functionality. Or this is just a prototype without all the real plastic on it. Looks too refined to be fake prototype plastic though.

Front fender looks jet fighterish....true......but it is a dirt bike......not an ME 262!
Try affixing an enduro score card to that! There are some of us that still race ya know

Hey old timer, we use transponders now. :D

As for the bike I'm going to wait to see the production model and some reviews before forming decisions but I love the out of the box thinking and taking risks.

Ride fast take risks, safety third.

Additional Info

The bike was 100% designed by the Italian team in Centrostile at the factory. There is no German influence.

Testing has been ongoing for several months.

The plastic is very close to the final design.

The reason the photos were released is so that actual real world racing can begin.

From a rider's perspective:

The power is substantially better than the current G450X.

The bike while about the same weight as a G450X feels much lighter. It is extremely easy to manouever around on.

Straight line acceleration over uneven terrain is amazing.

The test riders including Saliminen all turn their best lap times on this particular test motorcycle over any of the other bikes tested including KTM, Honda, BMW and our current TC/TE450.

Vibration is almost zero.

EFI is ridiculously correct.

Altogether I was extremely impressed with the bike.

Real world race testing should help with all the final settings before production begins.

The factory has done a very thorough job in developing this bike.

Oh yeah.

Kayaba suspension all the way around.

The clutch has siginificant updates from the previous BMW design including hydraulic actuation.

That's cool Scot! Is this going to be a 2011 production bike? If it weighs as much as the BMW, how much is that. It looks like it has a ton of clearance...any idea how much? Again, thanks for checking in!

estart only.

Its been proven and works. Since when did your car still come with a handcrank Coffee?

By the way, I just enjoyed my best cup of coffee ever from my official CafeHusky mug. Thanks a million for sending me the care package. I don't know why but the coffee just tastes better from a CafeHusky mug.

Awesome stuff Scot. I can hardly wait to try one. When do you think we will see this bike in the states? Great stuff :applause:

Yes it wil be a 2011 production bike in TC/TXC and TE model form. Will also come in 450cc and 450+cc configuration.

That's all I can say for now.

Dealers will get to see it at our dealer meeting at VMD in Mid-Ohio.

Hand crank on the Toyota... maybe I should install one!

Glad you like the mugs, I cannot figure out why things taste better in them. Everyone says that, including me. I thought they may used some Soylent Green to make them (1970's movie).

Makes sense. Now I know why it had the disclaimer that noone under the age of 12 could drink from it.

That must be it!

Maybe it's the color? McDonalds did and exhaustive study of what colors make people hungery, red and yellow. Maybe thats why we are "husky" riders.

No room for an Ohlins TTX, or many other shock options for that matter

why would you say that?
If a Kayaba can fit there, a TTX can fit there.
they are not one size fits all

Wil it be a husky and a bmw bike? Or will bmw stop making the gs450x, and it wil be named Husqvarna.
Where are they gonna manufacture the motor? Taiwan or in the new Husky factory in Italy?

I love how fast everyone is looking for aftermarket stuff.....before the bike hits the street.
