• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hubba hubba....2016 Beta 250RR

Already in the works. Said she'd ride the cr but I'm thinking more like a 16 x trainer. Or a 16 husky 125, the enduro or cross country model so I can plate it. Just in case she's working and I feel like changing it up a bit

I picked up a 4t beta about month and half ago. I was hooked on my husky 2t that I rode every chance I got. Light and nimble in trails I ride. Last 4t I had was years ago. Was little worked about weight difference at first but it feels very close. Handling is smooth as is delivery. It makes you feel like a better rider. Not sure if a good thing but she's yet to fail me. Only complaint is front tire feels squirrelly at times, might try change up soon. Also RR model is plate able in nj

Keep your sag to 100mm and up the rear spring if needed.

Where in NJ?

Thanks. Have yet to adjust suspension cause it felt good as is, but was just at shop Friday to inquire about the 5.6 spring and he said same thing. I'm in long beach island area. About exit 69 off parkway.

Cool, congrats with the bike. I grew up in Barnegat and Waretown.

Thanks. I'm in pebble beach in Barnegat. I live right down road from wells mills. Usually ride right there with new bike being plated. Where you at now?

while I have yet to ride a Beta I have had many bikes and I must say with a rubber submount and steering dampner my 2015 tc 250 feels very very nice... nothing sticks out bad in my mind in either high speed situations or low speed tight trails the bike is stable at speed predictable and you can trust the chassis. Since I crashed my Ducati this summer and my knee and thumb are still pretty screwed electric start may not be a bad feature LOL... Not ready for any kind of oil injection and a bit skeptical I guess and well...If you ain't mixing gas you ain't hauling a:os!! I would love to try one out when I get the chance!!

You can remove the system all together or bypass it if you wish. The race edition doesn't even have it

Sorry to hear about the accident but welcome back! What Duc do you have?

substitute the you (mixing gas) with the bike (mixing gas). At the optimum ratio/rpm engine lube demands. I kinda stoked on it , can't wait for our friend and local dealer to get one out on the trail to check out. Dang Betas carburate so well out of the box in current configuration it must only get better.

My random thoughts on the subject...

I rode the TE250 recently and have ridden the Beta many times as a friend has one (2015 300rr). I did not like the TE250 either, the motor seemed odd and weak, the rest of the bike was OK. The Beta I liked the motor a lot, it is slower handling and feels more planted but did not like the stock suspension settings much. I ride a 2015 KTM 300 W now and like it better than the Beta as the stock suspension is surprisingly way better for our riding. Beta owner agrees. Motor wise they feel very similar, both very good. Stock for stock I like the KTM300 the best of all of them, the Beta a close second and the TE a ways behind but it was a 250 not a 300. The Beta with a revalve would be as good or better then the KTM300 IMHO. All are good bikes for sure but have very different feels and advantages. The Beta is the smaller of the three for sure and probably better for smaller pilots.

I'm way late to this thread, I was fortunate enough to acquire a 2015 Beta 300 RR race edition back in May. I had been riding '09 WR 300 which had been extensively tweaked including adding a six speed. I didn't think a bike could get any better but after breaking my leg I had to have a bike with a button.
Most of these Beta reviews are the standard RRs, the 2015 Race Editions had the Red Marrzoccohi forks. Personally this is the best fork I've ridden, it's amazing how much faster I can safely ride. I have way more confidence in the front than the WR. The bike fits perfectly, I'm 6'2" 190. I did add bar risers since the stock setup had me leaning over the front fender standing up.
I've read a lot of articles about the motors not have any top end or being trials like. The bikes come from the factory jetted kinda ok. The needle is completely wrong for the east coast. Dropping the pilot, changing the needle to a Suzuki NECK and dropping the main completely changes the character. You aren't going to be passed by many YZ 250s.
Parts are no issue. I can get Husky or Beta parts faster than I can get Yamaha parts these day.

I think it's an amazing bike and hope the 2106 is as good with switch to the Sachs CC fork.

Just and old 99 900 monster. But less then 10,000 miles and has ohlins shock etc..... Horsing around with my Harley buddy on gravel I went to pass on right (My BAD!!) he went to go around a puddle (I forgot on a Duc I can wheelie across LOL) hit him $$$$$ or put bike down....app 45 MPH...knee and thumb still messed up after four monthes...fixed the bike looks like new again just into it for a bit more then it is worth LOL...

After tearing my 300RR completely down (except split cases) after two and a half years of riding and racing I can say its the most well built, quality bike I've owned yet. Over 180 hrs and the top end looked good but was replaced anyway. Clutch like new. Starter motor clean and dry. No surprises just basic wear stuff to be expected like chain slider, etc. Everything fits great and you don't need a mallet to get it back together like a GasGas. Yes, the Zoke fork works well but build quality is crap and a lot fail/wear out early, mine included. Its a crap shoot. Smart of them to co-develop the new CC fork with Sachs, it will pay off after a learning curve I'm sure. The Sachs forks and Shock are very high quality from what I can see servicing them. I've never seen shock oil so clean. Stock jetting is not bad here in NJ, in fact better than any other stock bike I've had. The NEC*/NED* series needle is better though, a little smoother and adds some overrev, but the J (summer)and W(spring/fall) dias work better, K too lean. This is a really good bike, especially if you have to keep it awhile.

Glenn (GMP) was a huge help with my jetting issues, he's the one that turned me on to the Suzuki NEC needles. I differ to his opinions and expertise with these bikes considering I have about 30 hours on mine
