• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey 2 wheelers, you got 4 legged pals?

So who is your little furry (or otherwise) pal that goes with you out to the track and trails or is waiting for you when you get back home? Post up some pics.

This is Paris, A.K.A. Peewee The Cat. She is about the size of the small end of nothing whittled down to a fine point and is a real live wire. She was rescued off the euthanasia list at a Bakersfield shelter and brought to a Kitty Rescue organization home in Mira Mesa. They spayed her, wormed her, deflea'd and immunized her, trimmed her cat daggers and put a cute little collar with a bell on it around her pencil neck, then brought her up to my house yesterday. I wrote them a check for 75 dollars and now she's my new little pal.:D We have lots of ground to cover getting her up to speed on home kitty/human etiquette, but she is a sweet shy little gal.

My Bullmastiff, shes about 7 months in this shot

He is my ankle biter. Very good dog, we rescued him so i don't know what he is. I take him to buddy Scotts place where he has super fun trails I like to rail on my daughter KX100, My dog can hang no problem and is always right there. He barks at you when you stop or are not going fast enough. Sucker cuts trail everywhere, cheater. :D

Sylvester the cat...

He arrived on the farm a couple of years ago and just adopted us. Either someone couldn't look after him any more, or he got into a vehicle and just found himself out here - he loves going for a drive. And sleeping. And eating. And watching wildlife programmes on TV.

This is the pal I had for the last 16 1/2 years till last week, when she used up all her "9 lives" finally; Gracie A.K.A. Peefur The (Adventure) Cat. She also liked watching wildlife programs, especially the part about cheetahs on the savanna.:D

Well I won't go on endlessly about what great "kitty" stuff she did or what kind of a cat genius she was. I'll just say that I miss her so much and there will never be another one like her.:(

Here are my two Jack Russels. Great around bikes and enjoy the side hack, although the brown one always gets pissed when I kick start a bike. Kind of a PITA too since 3 of the 4 in my stable are kickers.

Virgina Clemm is the one on the left, and Ripply is the center and right. Ripply was adopted from a family whos kids were alergic to her. When we got her she had never been handled, but she was a good talker. My wife can now pick her up and handle her with no problem. Me on the other hand..she loves nothing more than to bite me!!! Yes they can cost a lot and they are a life long commitment. My greys have a life span of over 50 years.

i have a Cockatiel that's way over the hill at 28 years old, almost twice the life span of the average cockatiel and she isn't terribly cute or talented either, just old and ornery.

Another reason why I find I really do love Husky folks! No other board would you find such a thread... Awesome!

Here's my two guard dogs (lick you to death) on the roof of my shed.:D
Favorite spot to keep an eye on things.

I still remember the day I got him at 8 weeks:)....sadly he had a mass that grew into his spine...and I had to put him to sleep....he was still perfect in mind....I cant tell you how hard it was to do that.....

I know what you mean, since I just went through the same thing with Peefur The Cat a little over a week ago.

This is a cool idea. Don't ask me why but as I've seen this thread I for some reason thought it had something to do with quads or something. I know.. DUH
I'll have to round up some pics. of Earl, Dickey and whoever will sit still long enough.
