• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help/Thoughts requested. TXC 511

Husqvarna
A Class
Good morning, Well I have already found this spot to a wealth of knowledge. My story is I picked up a txc 511 a few wks ago and outside of a few minute shake down ride my first real hours on this husky was/is this wknd. We headed out to Moab on thursday and rode 7 mile rim just to get the bikes checked out. No problems and my mates road the husky and was quite impressed.

My first thoughts were how responsive and how the low hung weight made the bike feel lighter than what it is.

Yesterday we put 70 miles of trails including Kane creek and this is where I really got a feel for the bike. which brings me to my questions.

The bike is a submarine! The airbox placement is awesome. I experienced the throttle sticking as so many have. It corrected itself about an hour after it started. I assumed prior to reading that the numerous high water crossings may had contributed but I guess not.

With the TXC not having a key...how do I do the TPS reset. I found tons of info on te/key reset procudures but nothing concrete for the txc. Im just gonna unplug the battery 10 mins and start without touching the throttle, let idle 5 mins and see. Again the problem corrected but I know Ive been "teaching" this thing bad habits. Is what IM doing a tps reset for the keyless bikes?

I dropped my oil to the bottom of the glass and stopped experiencing the "opec nation" blow by.

Gearing is too tall for my liking. Is the front sprocket proprietary to husky or will other more common brands work? No husky dealer in Moab but they have about everything else and I would like to drop down to 12-13?

Finally suspension. Big hits is great right with factory settings but on little chatter and rock its really harsh. I didnt find a ton of info here. Any suggestions? Thanks and sorry for the long post.

449/511 package has been heavily developed by ZipTy racing and forum contributor Eng. Tinken. I would defer any questions about this platform to Tinken.

The TXC is a race bike platform so the suspension is stiff. The TE is a DS so the suspension is soft. Your going to need to have it revavled. I suggest ZipTy. As for the sprocket the BMW 450X sprocket might fit but that going to be just as hard to find. Any husky rear sprocket will interchange though. They are great bikes, get your dialed toy our liking and enjoy.

Thanks for the reply. Been fighting the idle all day but making head way. Can't wait to get a rear guard. I'm on your last.

Do a TPS reset and speaking of Zip Ty, Id recommend biting the bullet and getting the breather can and having them flash your ecm with the Map 3.
TPS reset can be found on this forum. It can be done with no key.

If its on the site I cant find it......I did find where it said to try to just disconnect the battery and re attach. If anyone knows where the procedure is posted id sure appreciate it. Thanks all

Much appreciated.....so no throttle movement thru the range like we do for the keyed bikes... interesting. Thank you sir.
