As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
those two bars on top look like a way to raise the seat height

The rear frame loop looks like it has been modified as it is not the correct shape for the 1980 WR. 15" C-C is the correct shock length
Do you have a seat that fits right, cause the 1980 is a one off seat, it;s hard to find. It's a little different
then the 79 & 81/82
Dang... well I won't know for sure till I grind off the extra pieces. Might do that tomorrow if I can get enough heat in the garage! More to follow...
Thanks for the heads-up!
Thanks Moto... see below:
That looks to be and 81/82 seat.
Oh well... what are the clues that you see/don't see that tell you that?
There's on approximately a 1/4" different in the 80 vs 81-82 mounting, you can make the later seat work but you need sort of 2 adapter back plates. My 80 was missing a seat when i bought, so i've been down that road.
Looks like the back fender loop is off another bike, perhaps a 75-78, and weld on.
Re look at Husky T's frame pics in the old thread, an 80 seat mount under the frame tube
with a barrel style type mount, not a stand up tab, very odd.
