I finally got to ride it
around 30 mile trip
First thoughts, and my other bike is a Triumph STR
1/ Very Very different.
2/ It is tall, me being only 5' 7" more like 6"
I have had it lowered and it is not so bad as I thought it be, controlling at slow speed a lot easier than I thought it would be for me.
3/ It feels slow to the point I thought the Speedo is 10% out, but at the same time I felt I was keeping up with cars and no one was really following me. I checked it with an iphone APP. I am pretty sure my speedo max speed was 65 at any one time, the Iphone app over a 12 (varied speed ride) mile period recorded a max speed of 65.8 Mph I was quite surprised.
4/ The OEM tyres not really suitable for the road, I can see why people are reporting wheel wobble at high speeds, although I was very cautious cornering, (roads wet too) even in a straight line it is something I would not want to ride around on a daily basis at high speeds for long.
5/ Love the ride, So high, and smooth over the bumps considering the tyres,
6/ I smiled a lot.
7/ Seat not as bad as I thought it would be, if rode a long way on the road sensing a numb bum.
8/ Engine sounds good as well
9/ Light is an understatement
10/ Was expecting the brakes to be worse than they were, after reading a few reports, though I am between 10 / 11 Stone
11/ Only costing a tenner (£) to fill it up (
12/ Did I say I smiled a lot
Little things I will miss, or poor points for a new bike, & things gonna have to live with.
1/ No Rev Counter
2/ Quite surprised no ignition key, anyone can jump on and start her up and ride off. Although the Dealer can fit one for not to much money. Still thought it would be fitted as standard tbh.
3/ Vibration not to bad through the handle bars, although can imagine if you were wearing summer gloves it will be annoying, I will fit the grip puppies think they will improve it, grips are quite small.
4/ It is all ready dirty
Cant comment to much on the engine and pull, It is very stiff for sure, but I am sure it will pull well, and go well, but I am gong to try and give it some easy run in period for a little while.
I cannot wait to get the 17" rims on it with road tyres, (Michelin Power) and then get it run in and swap back tyres for some off road fun.
As long as it is reliable, worth every penny.
