• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Finally got to ride a '17 TE150!

Need more info on this bike.....engine brakes etc....
Engine is very good and can lug down well, but you will need to be ready to shift down or clutch it when you need to and that's more than a 250, but less than a 125. It has great top end, better than my 200 did. It think a few mods like the other guys have done (carb, head, pipe) and it will be even better.

Brakes.... Not quite Brembo, but actually not bad for me. More progressive, so less touchy in low traction situations. A faster guy might like the Brembo brakes better.

What l've seen of your posts in the past.... You might be happiest with a TC125, with a 150 kit installed from new. I rode a '16 150SX totally stock in the woods and it was quite good.

20170925_200842.jpg I've thought possibly make the bike they should of a tx 150....electric start with air fork....yes tc 125 with 150 kit installed is very tempting...resale on any bike is better with electric start for sure....even a smallbore...brakes have been described to me similar to your description..feels like b rembos with.semi mettalic pads installed...so not horrible..the tc by the time you install a tank and the big bore kit and sidestand you could of got a te cheaper..so pretty debatable...but a te with air fork and headlight taillight o Do removed is a 200 pound electric start bike...pretty incredible..

Really enjoying this thread. Oddly, my '18 150 is orange, not white like all the pics here. Go figure. Red spring, RB Designs 5.0 slide, MikeS head mod. 30 pilot, 5.0, S-4, 4374-3, 500. Will be testing a 520 Saturday. Removed the aluminum clutch plates and installed steels. Have to admit stock clutch is fantastic, but those aluminum plates color the oil really fast. As you all have probably realized, it's basically the same 200 clutch, steels, and frictions. Forks are super smooth with the least stiction I've ever seen WP produce, but a little soft. I've been slowly firming them with valving changes. Shock is about right for me. 165 before gear, woods.

At the end of the day price diff was to close...bars cut 29 3/4 handguards..pipe guard...heavy duty tubes...new helmet...boots...goggles...shirts..oil...etc...im broke but smiling ear to ear...11 hours I'll be home..150 next year possibly...

I really was leaning 150 te....but the price difference was so marginal I can't even say what it was...keep us informed on how the new steed is working for you

Going to ride the '18 TE150 and the '15 TE125(150) tomorrow back to back. Pretty sure which one will come out on top for me!:D
'15 with the bore and stroke motor, has a bit more torque and is a great bike. But, the '18 big bore is just better in every respect.... lighter, handles better, has more bottom than a 125, but a very 125 top end and did I mention the button? Brakes aren't Brembo, but that may not be bad, as they are more progressive and less likely to put you on your head with the front or slide out the rear. If I had buckets of cash, the '15 would find a new home and I might just pick up a TC 125, to be a spare bike, if I have to kick start one!
